I just want to take the time to thank each and everyone one of you who have supported me over the years. All of you are truly the ones who keep me going. I was looking over some of the comments today left in the "Inspired" tab and realized that I am so lucky to have all the support and friends that I do..it keeps me motivated, dedicated and consistent with my training to have all of your support. To be an inspiration is honetly one of the best feelings a person can have in my opinion. I never expected to be on the top 6 most viewed or even top 6 most inspirational profiles and bottom line, again, never would have without my friends and support from those who love this lifestyle and eat, breathe, and live this 24 hours a day. So I truly thank you all.
Sincerely, Nick

I am so happy to announce that my beautiful wife is pregnant! She took about 4 tests this morning and they all came back positive (3 tests wasn’t enough haha). She is going to the Dr. tomorrow to make sure everything is on the up and up. We are both very excited. Before she got pregnant, I had a feeling we were going to have a girl first, but my mind has changed for some reason..I’ve got this feeling now that it’s going to be a little boy..I guess we’ll just have to wait and see..

I’ve been going to Nutrition Zone for close to 2 years now and have been a huge supporter of the shop. I buy my protein powder there as their prices are basically cut in half. I remember one of the first days I went in there, I was helped by Joe who basically took the time to talk to me about various things..nutrition, training, and supplements. He didn’t have to help me out, but he did and I remembered that. Ever since, I have been going there just about every 2 weeks to pick up my protein. Seth is the manager over here by where I live and a couple weeks ago he asked me about sponsorship and if I would like to apart of the team there at Nutrition Zone..I said YES of course!..So he said he would hit me up with details within the next few weeks. I went in today and he said he had just shot me an email with all the details, and asked if I was still interested, I said for sure!! So tonight I will be filling out my bio and throwing some pics his way and then will be featured on the official Nutrition Zone website and be considered a Nutrition Zone Sponsored Athlete. I’m very grateful and excited to have picked up another sponsorship, specially with an awesome company, incredible team mates, and some of the coolest dudes who run the place.
Check it out! nutritionzoneonline.com
Thank you Nutrition Zone, Seth, and Joe!

Wow, what a year so far..not a very good one, but I am doing my best to stay optimistic. First off, I want to thank all of you for your incredible ongoing support. I feel like I can be pretty open with you guys on here so I’m going to kind of explain things. I wrote a blog about 2 weeks ago saying that I will be taking some time off from pretty much everything to deal with some family matters. My father has recently had some legal issues which haver effected my family very much, my mother is also terminally ill and only has so many more months to live as some of you know, and I have been dealing with meningitis these past 2-3 weeks..So as you can see there’s quite a bit going on right now. I found out I had meningitis this past Thursday, I didn’t feel too well for some 2 weeks before that..on and off fever, ongoing headaches, and swollen lymphnodes. I woke up this past Thursday and felt the worst I have ever felt, and ended up in the ER. They put me in a bed and ended up doing a spinal tap on me which was no fun, put a 14" needle up my spine. Today is the first day I have been out of bed. Anyway, I am starting to feel a little better and hope to be back training in about a week or so. Due to everything going on, I will not be competing this year. However I do hope to step on stage someday in the near future. Right now I have to focus on my family and overall health. I will be on BodySpace here and there, but not as much as I used to be. I will be training 3 days a week instead of 5, but believe me..The determination is still there and I will still bring the intensity and train very hard. My wife and I plan on starting a family very soon within the coming months and we both are very excited about this. Yes, Nick Edge is going to be a daddy!….Not yet, I will announce when my wife is pregnant, but we do plan on trying very soon.
So this is what’s going on right now, once again thank you all for your support.
Keep on training hard everyone!! See you in the gym!!

First off, I want to thank you all for your support over the years, it has been amazing. I never imagined I would get such incredible opportunities thrown my way. One thing is for sure, I never would have gotten such great opportunities without the support of my friends and family and specially all of YOU here on Bodyspace. These last 2.5-3 years I got certified as a personal trainer, picked up a sponsorship with Controlled Labs and Muscle Ink, started my own business, and have been featured in over 10 magazines..This was all something I dreamed of when I was younger and my dreams came true. I want to also point out that I accomplished this 100% DRUG FREE..and when I say DRUG FREE I mean DRUG FREE, all natural..So yes, it is possible to get a sponsorship and land features in mags without the help of illegal performance enhancing drugs.
I have decided to take a break from training\bodybuilding. Family is everything to me and right now my family needs me. I’m not going to go into detail, but I will say that my family is going through some tough times and things are going to get tougher towards the end of the year. I need to spend as much time as I can with my family right now.
I want to take the time to sincerely thank Ryan DeLuca and Bodybuilding.com\Bodyspace (I wouldn’t have accomplished everything I did without you), Controlled Labs and Pt (You guys seriously are the best and I can’t thank you enough), Ian L. Sitren(You’re the man Ian!), Nate Dogg(You’re my bro and you taught me so much-Check him out everyone, he’s the next big thing!!..BodySpace Name-"TriednTrue", and ALL OF YOU HERE ON BODYSPACE!!!..I honestly cannot thank you all enough for your awesome support, none of this would have happened without you, so THANK YOU!!
I’ll be back when the time is right, so for now KEEP ON TRAINING HARD EVERYONE!
Sincerely,
XNick EdgeX

Hey Everyone,
I recently took a week off training\work to be with my mother after a very serious health scare. She is currently doing ok, and I just want to take the time to thank you all for the support. It means so much to me. I usually am very private about my personal life, but felt I needed to share with my friends what’s going on and I consider everyone on here true friends, I really can’t thank you enough. Wednesday, January 7th it’s back to work and back to training hard..Let’s make 09′ a great one!! Thank you everyone.

Hey everybody,
I’m not going to get into too much detail here, but my time here on BodySpace is going to be pretty limited right now..Due to personal issues involving my mother, I will be spending a lot of time with family. She has been dealing with a serious illness over the past 15 years and we almost lost her Thursday night..She was put on life support and is having surgery Sunday. We are all trying to stay as positive and optimistic as possible. I’ve taken the last 4 days or so off from training and have been with her by her side. I’ll be getting on here every so often, checking things, and getting back to as many of you as I possibly can, just please understand that these are very difficult times right now for my family and I.
I appreciate all of your support.. and as far as goals and plans go for 2009, it’s still on..no matter what happens, I’m still going to stick with it. It’s all I’ve got that keeps me going and keeps me on the right track.
Talk to you all soon,
Nick

A couple days ago I wrote to Controlled Labs and told them how much their supplements have helped me achieve my goals. Out of all of the supplements I have ever tried, Controlled Labs gives me exactly what I need to make it through every workout! They have a very effective supplemental line and that is why they have earned such an incredible reputation. I was then contacted by Mr. Jon Klaft, President of Controlled Labs, telling me that they would be interested in bringing me on as a sponsored natural athlete. I immediately wrote back and said, "Yes!". As of right now I am shooting back e-mails with PT..Some of you might know who he is, very nice guy and always a huge help in the forum. I am getting all of the information right now of what is expected of myself as a sponsored Controlled Labs Athlete. I am very thankful to have been given this opportunity and look forward to working with Controlled Labs!
Take care,
Nick

I just want to take the time to thank all of you who have supported me and encouraged me to be the best I can be. It’s you guys and girls who keep me going out there!! Health and fitness is something I am very passionate about and I feel blessed to be able to do what I do. Helping others achieve their goals any way I can is something I love to do. To train others and provide others with training and nutritional information as a part time job makes me the happiest person in the world! I remember first logging on to BodySpace a year ago and being in complete aww of all of the incredible looking physiques on here! It was something I wanted sooo bad, so I said to myself.."I gotta train harder, 5 times a week instead of 3..I need to do my research on supplements that work..I need to throw out my current diet and tighten it up..and I NEED TO STAY CONSISTENT". You’ve got to give it your all, no excuses. If you want something bad enough, go out and get it!
All of you have been great and I can’t thank you enough,
Sincerely,
Nick Paniagua\XNick EdgeX

I often get people asking me about my diet and what I eat to stay so lean, lowering my BF% but yet keep the muscle growing. Bottom line is, it’s about throwing out everything you used to love and throwing in a whole other realm of foods. Sticking to a high protein, moderate carb, low fat diet is key for putting on lean mass. What I currently am eating as of now is a whole lotta chicken (boneless\skinless), lean beef, organic black beans, whole grain rice (in moderation), sweet potatoes, lots of tuna, lots of eggs (mainly egg whites, sometimes I will throw in a yolk in there), bananas, mixed fruit (in moderation), low sodium turkey on Ezekiel bread with lettuce (nothing else), McCann’s Irish Oats, and I usually get my veggies through powder since I really do not care for whole food veggies..but believe me, I do know the importance of including them in an everday diet. I have thrown out all fast food, sugary sodas and juices, fried foods, sweets, and certainly alcohol (coming up on 5 years since I have had my last drink..and I never plan to put another one down again). Dropping every one of these items helped me lose the excess bodyfat I was carrying around. In my opinion I think 80% of reaching your overall goal of grasping that desired physique has to do with diet. You can train all you want, but if you don’t have your diet in check…the results you are looking for will come slower then expected or may not come at all. So keep that diet in check and X out all of the fatty\fried\sweet\fast foods out there and reach that goal of attaining the physiqye you desire!
