It's hard to believe that it's the 9th of April yet this is the first day I've been to the gym this month. Today marks exactly 2 weeks since I shattered a few toes and the recovery is showing me just how impatient I can be. I thought I'd be back in the gym in the middle of last week, but pain and the inability to drive sort of hindered that. The pain isn't gone, and the bones aren't healed, but I can get around and I refuse to miss any more training days, so I'm back...
(Go to our X Blog for the full training and diet details.)
Note: Our current program is based on the direct/indirect in http://www.x-workouts.com plus http://www.x-workouts.com/#anchor_upd rotations from that e-book and the NA technique from http://www.x-workouts.com/#anchor_xcen
Summary: Strength was obviously down a bit, but not as bad as I was expecting. Not bad at all, really, but I also only did 3X rather than 4X, so it was a lighter workload all around. The 3X seemed like a good idea since it's been 2 full weeks without any training and at all, and I don't want to skip a day because of soreness. I still pushed 100% for the sets that I did do, and that was probably just due to the excitement of being back. It felt great to be there... Even if people were staring at my funny new shoe.
