Deadlifts again

Ok well got another PB. wooohoo

Deadlifted 160×6, I feel like its just gonna keep going up, I know I had a little bit more in me… Makes me hope the rest of my lifts start going up as quick. I’ll be very happy when I can do 6×60kg unassisted dumbell press but it feels like i’m hardly progressing. Well hopefully deadlifts will just keep me motivated.. One thing i’ve noticed is that i’m damn tired before every workout, i’m really considering giving it a go before work instead of after now.. 9pm may just be too late for me. perhaps next week i’ll start a trial. Tonight just did HIIT for 8mins.

Squats I will see.. probably tomorro if im going forward.

Last workout

Ok didn’t get what I was hoping for in the squats, thought I would seeing as how good my deadlifts have been going but no such luck.

Struggled but clean form 3×130 so i’ll aim for 4-5reps next workout. I had a slight sore hip prior to doing them when moving in certain positions so this may have affected them but can’t say for sure.

Onto chest tonight, no spotter for weekdays for next few weeks.. See how I feel on 40-45 will dictate if I jump to 55s again. I did them before with some assistance, especially lifting them up at the start.. In the past I was always doing them with no assistance so will see.. Need new earphones damnit as well (actually headphones), these keep falling out of my ears at the worst times.

Anotha PB

Well had a pretty awesome workout today..

Went to a different gym & I use trap bar for deadlifts most of the time. This trap bar was slightly smaller than the usual one I use and when I was going for 155×6 reps first 2 were easy but grip was **** on the bar so I had to give up, instead decided to go for 1 rep max (I had no prob grip for 1 rep!). Ended up making 180kg which was awesome. Started off 6×65, 5×105, 4×125, 2×155, 1×175, 1×180.. Never tried 1 rep max before but it sure beats my old 6reps of 120! Not gonna do it again as the 1 rep’s are too risky but im pretty confident I can go 6×160 if i’m lucky next workout!

Hoping to increase squats now, got a useless 2×130 last time, gotta get 6 next workout, I know I can do it but I think i’ll need some heavy metal MP3s to assist.

Dumbell press I want 6×60 unassisted

 

I know what I wanna do now.. Just gotta DO IT!

Another Virus… omg

Well After last week beating deadlift PB by 15kg, doing PB bench press unassisted and PB bicep curls I was feeling good for a PB in squats..

Went for a Holiday in Melbourne for 4 days, all was good until about 5am the next day I woke up feeling sick, and pretty much vomited every 2 hours.. Felt better later then it started again last night at midnight. Now on antibiotics but it means I’ve eaten virtually nothing for >24 hours, anything I do eat ends up out of my body! Well this is hopefully gonna be a quick one so shouldnt be much lost gym time.. I will find out soon.

Awesome workout

Ok most of this year was terrible since around March when I took off a few weeks to go to Gold Coast - just felt lazy even though I only went for 1 week.. Anyway After that I started getting back into it late March, my second training session I stuffed my neck BADLY on the hack squat somehow. For a few weeks even cardio would cause intense pain in my neck so I did virtually nothing. Got back into it sometime through April but not very motivated then I think around May I got an infection that lasted a few weeks, got over that then got a flu!! So was really bad, anyway maybe in June/July I got back into it and have pretty high motivation since (higher than its been for a long time).. I recently started remembering when I did my heaviest bench it was from listening to Slipknot on MP3 player which psyched me up so I bought a new player a few days ago.. It paid off BIG time tonight.

 My last deadlift last week (which was heaviest i’ve done in proper form) was about 135kg, I struggled for 5 reps and felt terrible.. Tonight I put on some Metallica nice and loud, thought i’d give 150kg a go to see what it was like, I did a pretty damn smooth 5 reps with everything I had, then pushed out an extra rep for a total of 6.. Was so happy with that and knew i’d pushed myself to my limit! Gotta love that feeling!

Tomorrow it’s gonna be dumbell press so i’ll see how I go, not expecting anything huge though but if I might give the 55s a go (havn’t done them since March) if i’m feeling good. Last session I did 52.5kg for 5..

 

Update

Well I bulked to about 92kg then started putting on a bit more fat than I would’ve liked. I also just had a couple of weeks off, mainly from travelling to Melbourne then was worried about getting sick - I really need to get back into cardio, been off it for wayyyy too long and I can tell i’m super unfit compared to before. I need to start training chest/legs twice a week, I have made hardly any strength gains in a long period of time and I think its because I lowered my amount of training.

I will take it easy next few sessions - think I burst a blood vessel again in my eyelid from squats this time, I cant think what else it could be but occasionally after a heavy training session my eyelid will feel funny, then over the next few days it gets swollen like a black eye then goes down.. Hasnt gone all the way down yet and I could feel it not right when pushing triceps tonight.

Will keep this updated with my goals more often I hope!

I dont think anyone reads these but its fun to write for myself anyway.. :D

Random blog #2

Still been bulking up, now sitting around 86-87kg and still got a 6 pack, though its losing its definition slightly..

Its ok im getting my fitness level up again, getting back into mountain biking which I love, have missed it heaps since I first started training weights (stopped it altogether because I thought i’d burn too many calories - if I ate enough it wouldnt have been a problem). Its funny on my exercise bike I thought I musn’t be that fit because I could do 7 mins of HIIT on level 3 resistance - but when I went on an exercise bike in the gym I could put it up to its max level (14 or something) and it was HEAPS easier than mine.. I went for 15min no prob, >120rpm on fast intervals. My bike get’s harder as I go faster which is good I guess, prepare me for those hills on mtb rides.

Ok thats enough of this totally random post for now…

oh yeah except one thing - gonna change gyms from Fri, can’t wait to get back into a gym where people train at the same time I do (get to gym about 9pm from work). My old gym closed at 9.30 so I could only train late by myself as I have a key. This gym closes midnight in Winter + 24hrs in Summer, I trained for a bit about a year ago and it works much better and is on the way home from work which is good when u live 80km away from work!

First update - Bulking

Ok well been a while since i’ve updated my bodyspace so here it is.

Not sure why I havn’t been active (on here) - I guess I lost a bit of interest on other peoples views on cutting etc since I stopped mine.  Well started bulking a while ago not sure maybe 2 months ago. Have been eating so much - it made me realise I certainly wasn’t eating enough when cutting, I basically doubled my calories and wasn’t gaining weight. Went from 94 to 83kg and am now on my way back up - but this time will keep fat to a minimum and will try to keep a good 6 pack all the way which i’m confident I can do  as last bulk I was eating anything and everything fatty just to get up there as quick as possible. Thought cutting would be easy as I was naturally skinny starting at 65kg - how wrong I was..

Was talking to someone recently who I work with and they started about the same weight as I, he is now about 105kg however holding a fair amount of fat and used steroids from the day he started training. I thought it was interesting when he mentioned he can do 55kg on the dumbell press and now that i’ve started bulking I can do 60kg in clean form (and I dont think his form is clean judging from what i’ve seen him do). Just goes to show steroids can be pretty much useless if you don’t know how to use them - except for emptying your wallet.
