2009 NGA Natural Olympus

August 24, 2009

“What this power is I cannot say; all I know is that it exists and it becomes available only when a man is in that state of mind in which he knows exactly what he wants and is fully determined not to quit until he finds it.”

Alexander Graham Bell

I recently decided that I will be giving my first shot at a natural competition this year. I have competed in two NPC shows, only reason being because they were very local. I’ll be dieting for only 6 weeks, starting September 5th, and ending on the day of the show..which is October 17th. As opposed to my other two competitions, I will be posting my progress this time around. If you take a look on www.buffalobodybuilding.net you will be able to find everything from my nutrition and my macronutrients, my workout schedule, my sets/reps/weights used during each workout, progress pics, and my input with how everything is going for me. Hopefully people will see it and give their input to help me come into the show at my very best and win the Open Middleweight class and then contest for the overall.

I have kind of an odd goal for my 6 weeks of dieting though, that people have told me won’t be possible. I plan on going from my present 165 pounds up to 167-168 pounds while dropping bodyfat and coming into the show completely shredded. I only think this is possible because of my fast metabolism and ability to eat a lot and still stay lean. Again, I’ll keep everything updated on www.buffalobodybuilding.net

13 Days Out…

June 14, 2009

As of today, I am 13 days out of the Rochester Bodybuilding Championships. My current morning weight is 162Lbs. I will be competing in the Open Lightweight class, hopefully around 153Lbs…coming in right at the top of my class. I have been dieting for 9 weeks and it is extremely hard to believe all of this hard work is finally coming to an end, and I certainly see the light at the end of the tunnel. This is my one shot to go from ‘zero’ to ‘hero’, since placing 5th out of 5 competitors in last year’s Mr. Buffalo Open Lightweight class. I’ve never been this driven or determined to achieve anything before in my life. My ’summer’ has consisted of waking up at 4:45 am Monday through Friday to do cardio, working 8am-5pm, training from 5:45pm-7pm, eating, preparing food, and sleeping….not much of a summer for a 20 year old. To be honest, I don’t think many of my friends or my family think it makes any sense at all really…

My main goal is to obviously take 1st or 2nd the Open Lightweight class, as the top 2 finishers in each open class will qualify for Nationals. Seeing as how I finished last place in my only competition, the only feeling I know of is failure when it comes to competing. Maybe it was just me, but being awarded the last place trophy in front of 1,500 people really hit home. I’ve been absolutely busting my ass for the past 13 months to prepare for this, and I can not WAIT to get back on that stage again.

Welcome!
