JAN 30 - Thumbs Up

Well nothing really exciting to speak of, I continue keeping my diet spot on and today was legs day.  Had a great workout and they are paying this morning (Jan 31).  Because of this I did the elliptical machine instead of the treadmill.  Did 2 mies on that this morning and off to work. Tonight is a Back and Chest workout, hands down my favorite.

Is it just me or does it seem the first couple of weeks when you are cutting your fat actually looks worse on you. It is like it gets all soft and looks worse then it did 10lbs ago.  I know this is the case with me right now. Maybe it is all mental but the fat seems to be a lot softer now then it has in the past couple of weeks, maybe there is some fact to this or not, just an observation.

JAN 28,29 - Keep on trucking

Well I have been really busy at work so I have not posted the past two days but I have a little down time this morning so I figured I would ctach up.

Sunday - I used for a day off. My body was telling me it needed it so I listened.  My diet was spot on and since there was no workout or cardio I kept calories lower then normal. All in all Sunday was a good day.

Monday - Monday was another spot in day. Did Morning cardio and in the evening I lifted. For thrill and giggles I maxed out on deadlift and got 405.  Watch out Coleman here I come….hahaha.  Anyway it is not great but hey it is my PB and I am proud of it.  Besides I felt like a bad ass with 4 Plates on the bar and doing an excercise other then squating.

Tuesday morning - Another day of cardio. Just for the record it is a lot easier to get cardio in the morning at the hotel since I don’t have to drive anywhere. At home my gym is real close but during the winter I hate going out warming up the car, go back and go to the gygm in the morning.. hahaha I know quit being a bitch….lol

JAN 27 - Son’s Bday

Woot made my month goal weight already this month!!!!  I decided to take my weight today since today is going to be a bit of a cheat.  It is my boys b-day today and the wife has made Lasagna and there will be B-Day cake etc.  To be honest I am not overly in need for a cheat meal(no strong cravings) so I might pass on the cake and just enjoy the Lasagna.

I am heading to the gym now to lift and for cardio, then I need to shovel the deck and sidewalks again from all the snow we have been getting.

JAN 26 - So far so good

Diet has been spot on so far today. I got my workout in.  I think I am finshed twaekin gmy routine and I will post tonight for you fine people to look at.

Cardio sucked ass for some reason. I did only 1 mile a 5 mph and I was totally winded. Very odd, I usually do not start to get winded until right around my 7th lap not 4th. I might come back tonight to do some more.  Maybe it had to do with me eliminating carbs yesterday?

JAN 25 - Another Good Day

Great day on the diet. Since today was only a cardio day I kept protein really high and carbs were way way way reduced.  All in all great day

On a side not I can see the following changes so far, my mood is a million times better, my energy is up through the day, I am getting more done around the house, and my sleep is even getting better.

I am totally an emotional eater, pathetic but true, but I think the focus on nutrition and excercise is helping me control that.  The cravinfs of junk food has passed for the most part and it is easier for me to get something healthy.  So all very positive things.

JAN 24 - Another Good Day but sore :-)

Well todays workout was really good and I didn’t feel nauseas so I completed my cardio as well. My legs are killer sore after Mondays workout. I am not sure why but I did hit them pretty hard.  I have been working out pretty regular so I am surprised by the soreness a little but nothing to prevent my forward progress.

I got some good tips on how to control hunger with some green tea and I love green tea so all the better. Thanks for the tip!

Other then that nothing too exciting today just another day on this long journey :-) .

JAN 23 - OK Day

Today was spot on with the diet, but some reason I could not sleep last night so I have been dragging ass all day. I did make a bunch of lean meats so I will have that for the week. It is so nice being home for a chance. Back/Shoulder workout were pretty good though I started to feel nauseas towards then end. I didn’t get any cardio in because of it but I did make it to the gym and was spot on diet wise.

I am coming up with a workout split that will help me retain some strength during this cut. I also believe lifting heavy with the core exercises will help me retain as much muscle as possible.

So all in all an ok day. Hopefully I get a goodnights sleep and get my cardio in the morning.

JAN 22 - Good Day

Missed a couple of post this weekend so this will contain a couple of updates.  Had the wife take some pictures and well it made me want to throw up…lol. As soon as I take the off the camera I will post them on the site.

Weekend Update: Pretty Terrible to be honest.  Went out with some friends on Saturday night.  Planned on drinking 2 drinks, but it ended up being 6 :-( . The to top it off we had to get some food at late night. I did get my workout in sat so that was a positive.

Sunday - Another not so great day but it was a planned cheat meal but because of Saturday I should have passed on it.  All meals were clean excpet for the pizza and piece of birthday cake.

Monday - Very good day so far. I want to start doing morning cardio but didn’t wake up on time so I did it after my workout.  Again no excuses especially since I am not traveling this week. Good day today but tomorrow can and will be better.

What I have learned…

I need to plan on drinking 0 alcohol(volunteer to be DD), Forge myself up to get in the morning and make it a habit. I respond so much better to morning cardio. If I can do it for 2 weeks it will be a habit for me

Jan 19 - The Start

Lets see I have been trying to get cut for about 3 years now but have failed many times. I start off gung hoe drop about 20-30 lbs people start saying you look good. I cheat a little more then I was next thing you know off the wagon.

The hardest pill to swallow is that there is no reason for failure in these goals. You have 100% control of the foods you eat and the effort you put in.  I control this but yet I give into cravings all the time. It is I will start Sunday, or lets see I have 43 days till my goal I will bust ass with 40 days that is a good round number.

So starting tomorrow I will post pics and weigh in weekly and keep progress, good or bad. In the past if I had a bad day I would lie about on my own journal (pathetic huh) and if it was several bad days I would stop posting.

But here it is the good/bad/ugly of this journey.  Please comment offer advice anything at all will be useful.
