Added another gym session today, a complete shoulder punishment workout in the am and I just completed the insnaity dvd for the day (Pure cardio). I think I can maintain this pace two days of lifting and then a day rest in between. I do not want to burn myself out!

I added a lifting session to insanity, I am going to try it out this week. Weights int he am and insanity after work. I just finished the evening session and I feel great. Sweaty but great. I feel different already. This program has me doing exercises I have not done since our b-ball circuit training in college.

This is tough as hell! One week down, this workout was the same as day 2 the plyometric cardio circuit.
I feel good having completed week one, but this is just the beginning. Now that I sit back and think about the past week I am amazed that I did it. I like working out in the am, but my schedule was crazy this week so many of my workouts came at night. I had to step out of my comfort zone and that is my biggest accomplishment. If I did not workout int he am, that was it for me for the day. I have a different attitude now. I can not wait to have a rest day!

I do not need to say much more that "Insanity Pure Cardio" which translates to 40 minutes of breakneck cardio. I do not think that guy is human, that is the only way to explain it.
On a good note my body is adapting to the exercises and my soreness is minimal at best. I still have a ways to go, but the sweat I had going and the feeling I had after comleting yet again another workout is priceless.
GO Insanity!
One thing that I think is funny is when the trainer kicks people off to the sideline if their form sucks or they stop exercising. One person was gasping and and he asked her how she was doing and she said she wanted to leave and he sent her to the sidline and said "come back in when I tell you" he is no joke and very demanding.

Wow and this is the what they call the easy DVD? This one was called "Cardio Recovery" it is about 35 minutes of yoga/pilates type of drills. Inever realized my core was so weak. Oh wait a minute I did just look at my progress picture, my memory is refreshed =-)
I was really hecka sore from the first 3 days but this day felt good deep stretches, balance work, and plank work.
This might not have been meant for big brothas, but this big brotha is doing it….just trying to get better.

I have never been soe sore in my life! I mean really you are telling I was that our of shape? I hate the sight of chairs at the moment. My legs are sore (Quads, hams and calves) as well as my Back, chest and triceps.
I thought I was going to be able to start off right away with doing this and the gym, but I am glad I decided a against it. I want to get used to the feel of the workout so I will wait seven days before adding weight training.

Day 3 of Insanity, Cardio Power and Resistance
I must be a bit insane (pun intended) to be putting myself through this. When I watched the infomercial they commented on working out in a puddle of your own sweat, and on the DVD’s they have the image of a puddle of sweat. Personally I thought they were hamming it up trying to hype the program. Well the A/C in my home was set at 70 and I had my big fan on to circulate air and during one of the drills I slipped in a puddle of my own sweat. I had to stop the DVD because I was laughing so much.
Today was the DVD called “Cardio power and Resistance” it reminded me of a combination of basketball and football circuit training. Doable yet tough at times. The hardest exercises were the one legged dips, moving pushups (what the heck are those), and 8 squats/8 pushups (when you do 8 standing squats, and then 8 pushups repeated 4 times).
At the end during the stretches I leaned over and a stream of sweat dripped off of my head (even wearing my sweatband). This is awesome!
In addition I wanted to add I had to buy some padding for my workout area because I was doing the exercises on a tile floor and that was not feeling too good on the joints. Also I was slipping on my protein, BCAA, and Glutamine intake. I am back up to 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight, and adding BCAA and Glutamine to each shake.

If I thought the fit test was hard then day two was mission impossible! I must like torture because that is what this is right now torture. I am sore in places that I forgot existed, and I realize I have a long way to go.
Day 2 was the “Plyometric Cardio Circuit” the workout incorporated stretching, yoga, basketball drills, football drills, skiing drills, boxing drills and other forms of cardio. The total workout was about 45 minutes in length. The only thing missing was a coach with a whistle!
It was good for me to see the people in the video getting tired. I have done training videos before and watching people smile through a video can really piss you off. The people in the Insanity video are sweating, leaving camera to take a break and they look absolutely exhausted. Whether that is planned or real it made me feel a lot better.
2 days down 58 days to go. 33 lbs down, 37 lbs to go
