Yesterday I was listening to this radio show and the hosts were discussing Rihanna’s interview with Diane Sawyer about her abuse from Chris Brown. What happened next was astounding to me. They allowed opinions from callers and a lot of these callers were women. This is where it really got disturbing to me. Most of the women said that Rihanna needs to just let it go and everyone should get off of Chris Brown’s back and give him a second chance for his mistake. My mouth dropped. I could not believe the backlash that these women were giving Rihanna. Have we gotten so insensitive and uncaring as a country that we don’t even know how traumatic physical abuse is? No wonder so many men get away with doing this and their wives go back to them, because we have no one willing to defend these women against these a $ $ clowns!! I mean Chris Brown was given oppurtunity after oppurtunity to tell his side while Rihanna said nothing for the last 9 months since this happened, yet society is willing to blame this on her. I’m gonna tell you this. I dare ANY man to put his hands on any woman that I am closely related to, friend, family or otherwise. If you put your hands on a woman, YOU ARE NOT A MAN, YOU ARE A COWARD and you aren’t bold enough to fight another man. And I have NO problem saying that I will go to jail if I have to to make sure you don’t put your hands on another woman. And for you women that are dogging this young lady or any young lady that goes through this….SHAME ON YOU!! Ok now i’m off my soapbox. I may post something about training later on but I was so pissed listening to some of these opinions yesterday that i had to go somewhere to get this off my chest.

As we are talking, I have to evacuate and get up to a friend’s house in Alabama. I have done a few calesthenics early on but after seeing a the weather report this morning, Hurricane Ida is on the move and set to make landfall by later tonight. So being that i’ma Florida native you can never predict these things so i’m getting on the road before everyone panics and crowds them up. In any case, My workout will have to come at the gym up there. Hopefully there will be no rainfall up there for a few days. I hate to miss workouts but if I have to miss today’s then it won’t be that big of a deal but so that you will have fun with it you can play this video.

I remember as a young kid watching wwf wrestling at the time, I would always hear Hulk Hogan remind us to say our prayers, take our vitamins and kick some a$$. Well I say my prayers and try to kick some a$$ in the gyn as much as i can, but realized that i really need to start taking my vitamins again. Yes as we get older our muscles get sore a lot more and our heart doesn’t pump as strongly as it used to when we were younger. So with that in mind I went to the Vitamin Shoppe and got me some Omega 3 for my heart and glucosamine and chondroiton, because believe me the more muscle mass we pack on the more strain we put on our bones and joints. And i must admit that even though i was getting up early and going at it full throttle in the gym, i was waking up in some pain and it wasn’t the soreness from working out. I’m already feeling better. Later on i’m gonna research vitamin packs on here to see what is the best. If any of you already take some, feel free to give input on what you think works best. And like Hulk Hogan used to tell us waaay back in the day, Say your prayers, take your vitamins, and then kick some A$$!!!!! With that in mind I have to post this.

Yes it’s that time again, time for another comic moment at the gym. Yesterday while i was doing my total body hiit workout, some young cats from one of the local high schools came in and were doing the basic fooling around that teenage boys do. Well later on one of the fellas stood up and brazenly said he could bench press King Kong. Well kids being kids one of his buddies asked him how much he benched to which he replied, "maybe uh, 350" that’s when i knoew something wasn’t right because of the pause between "maybe" and "uh 350". Of course they challenged him, so he took them up on the challenge. His first try he could not even push the weight up, secong try they dropped it to 275, he pushed it up maybe an inch off his chest, finally they droppped it to about 225 and he got it up barely. I just shook my head as i look at his beet red face from embarrassedment as his boys clowned him. Then just when you think it was done, one of his boys siad out loud " man you can’t bench press King Kong’s d!ck!!!! Almost everyone in the gym lost it. Now usually i would have felt bad for the guy, but hey, he was the one that was doing all the trash talk so he was on his on. Maybe some people need to remember that it’s not cockiness if you can back it up, but its total foolishness if you can’t.

Last night of course was tuesday night so that meant i had to watch Biggest Loser. Well long story short, Tracey the one who made half the country love to hate her, was finally eliminated. As much as I would love to say that I am happy she is gone, i won’t say that….it’s just ot in my nature and as this pic shows below, she is the one that nearly died out on the beach in this season’s premeire episode, so the fact that she literally lived to see another day and eventually put aside her bitchy ways and commited to doing the work to change, she eventually was able to finish the mile that nearly killed her. So i’m happy to see that she is commiting to the new lifestyle. There is a lot you can learn from people who realize that life isn’t all about you, which she did learn, but through you others can learn to re-adjust their lifestyles by commiting to being healthy.

I started doing the HIIT training and cutting program yesterday and i feel great. I worked with dumbbells so i was able to do a lot of supersets and pushed myself as far as i could go. I can already feel muscles i never knew i had. The body never ceases to amaze me. Just when you think you have done it all, you switch things up and you wake more sleeping muscles up. All i have today is an 8 minute HIIT session. 30 second brisk walk followed by a 30 second sprint, and then repeated it 7 more times. Now i must go down some egg whites and start this day off. DO WORK!!!
Monday’s workout
DB Bench Press/concentration curl superset…4 sets 10 reps
DB Shoulder Press/upright row superset…4 sets 10 reps
DB front raise/side raise superset…4 sets 10 reps
DB squats/bench dips superset…4 sets failure

Yesterday I posted a blog detailing my plan on how I am gonna toss a forgettable 2009 out on it’s head. Well i was just browsing the web looking for a motto for 2010. While i was watching Brett Favre defy age and put some of the "younger, more gifted" ballers to shame on the football field, I noticed how he feels like a kid again, especially after beating the team that told him they didn’t want him anymore after 17 years of him giving his blood sweat and tears. He had to be thinking about one song and its the song, I’m gonna use as my theme song when i emerge a newer slimmer and more vital version of myself. Its from Sly and the Family Stone…Thank you for letting me be myself….AGAIN…
So Al to borrow a technique from you, here is the link to it for you youngsters who know nothing about Sly.

No not 7 weeks till Christmas, it means that its time to blow it up the last 8 weeks of the year. 2009 has been a pretty much forgettable year for me, and this is why it is so very important for me to end it on a great note and set an awesome tone for 2010. I will be doing an 8 week HIIT training course for cutting and at the stat of the year another 8 week program for bulking. with alternating full body weight training and HIIT cardio days. When the bulking phase comes I will be spliting up the lower body and upper body weight training days and do only one HIIT cardio day a week. The killer will definately be the diet but i know i can do it. I love challenging myself, which is why i will be doing no sugar, no bread and only salt that is already naturally in the foods i’ll be eating. The war on bodyfat continues and i will not attempt to claim victory until I get under 10% bodyfat. Wish me luck guys.

This is a video of a 5 year old kid that is ripped to shreds. Now while this kid will never have to worry about being bullied, i wonder if this is too early to start a kid bodybuilding. Obviously he didn’t start this year so i’m wondering if his father isn’t taking a huge risk in his son’s long term health? I probably would not do it. My nephew who is 7 goes comes and messes with my dumbbells that i have at home but they are the 5 pounders. He is forbidden to even look at the other ones. I’m gonna post the video below and want you guys to tell me what you think. When would you guys start your kids to lifting? I want my kids to be healthy but in their very early stages i think i’ll stick with the push-ups and sit-ups.
