Proper form just makes sense
I watched a video just afew minutes ago on a friends blog and saw this guy going nuts on the lat pulls. I mean if the cat was practically lying down of the bench as he was pulling down the weights. We wonder why so many people have injuries from training. Is it more important for you to outlift everyone in the gym or to keep your muscles in place and isolate them so they get get stronger by properly lifting the weight? I have separated a shoulder because i had to be the strongest guy in the gym before. It was a hard lesson to learn, but i don’t regret it now. I know i will get to where i want to be. I’m just comfortable with the fact that it won’t happen today but eventually by doing it right it will happen and i will keep making gains. Don’t be stupid guys, swallow your pride and get better as you go along.

I only compete against myself, & don’t give one whit about what others lift. I see women lifting more than me on certain exercises. Who cares? I have more muscle than I did 20 yrs ago at the same bodyweight, with more definition.
Great post Wayne.

Usually it takes an injury in order for us to realize that its best to do it properly rather than try to impress someone……that probably isn’t even paying you any attention. You know how us guys are….always trying to impress. Glad I learned my lesson years ago.

Most of the time you end up hurting another muscle as oppossed to making the intended muscles better

Check the ego at the door…not always easy, but necessary.

My mom used to always tell me growing up that doing things the right way is almost never easy, but its always best
