When life gives you lemons, throw them right back at it.

It has definately been a frustrating few months for me lately, even though i’m a generally happy person and content, the current situation with the economy has taken its toll. I haven’t had a real source of income for the last six months, I have been forced to downsize and live really frugal which has cut greatly into my supplement and nutrition budget, I hate having to live with relatives and now i’m dealing with mechanical problems with my automobile. Filling out endless job applications, that with the exception of a few follow up calls have resulted in nothing. But somehow throughout all of this i always see where someone is going through something even more painful and see where they don’t even complain. I guess I’m really being humbled right now because for the first time really in my life i’m living out of a comfort zone that i really had gotten settled into. But through it all I get up, pray, read some biblical passages and go right back at it. If not for the gym, my faith and great people and friends that I have made on here, I think I would have given up by now. I know about 5-6 years ago I would have. But as long as you have breath, there is always a reason to believe that tommorow will be better. So my advice to anyone who is going through similar issues, pick up life’s lemons and throw them back at life. As much of a cliche as it is…tough times don’t last, but tough people do. DO WORK guys!

Ok, going to put on my minister hat for a minute…

I went through a jobless stint a few years back after having been laid off, and I’ve prayed with others in that situations too. Three things to consider…

God says he will provide all of our needs, so not stressing about the money is a testament of your faith.
What is God trying to work in you during this time?
Through the authority given to us by Jesus, you can claim a new job. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen on God’s time, but it will happen, and according to His plan. Jesus gave us authority over the enemy, but it’s up to us to walk in that authority.

    This is for you Wayne,

The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.

My prayers are w/ ya Wayne. I went thru 2 firings + 2 layoffs from 1997-2004. God used that time to mold me & shape me, and I learned where I needed to make changes in my priorities. Praise Him that you have Him. How people go through this without an assurance that there is a purpose, and that there is a PLAN, is beyond me. As boosh said……you do your part in doing your best to find a job & remain a faithful steward of what He provides. He does have a plan for you. I took comfort in reading Job. God promises to walk with us, but no where in scripture does He promise an easy go of it, at least in THIS life.

    Soli Deo Gloria,
    Al

I’m right there with ya buddy and I feel your pain. The ecomomy cost me my main job and now I’m reduced to throwing papers for little more then minimum wage. But like you I try to keep a positive attitude and keep on plugging. Things will turn around my friend if we stay strong.

I truly believe this is happening to you for reason. I think it’s to give you something more and better than you had.

Keep up with the positive attitude. I think a lot of people can relate to what you’re going through. I’ve been there myself. I remember being pregnant and not able to buy food. Vomiting a clear liquid happened often due to not eating.

I when send you all my good vibes and ask for your luck to change.

Yes dear that is so true. I was humbled from 07-09!! I feel that it is needed to prepare us for greater things. That way as my blessing increase my humility will be well established. That way, I can appreciate it for all that it is worth.
