I think everyone will feel me on this rant.
Today i hit a lower back/arms superset workout today and i hit it pretty hard so once again I had a good week in th gym. My problem with the gym patrons today however is the fact that i had to step over a lot of weights lying in the floor. How hard is it for the minions of the gym to simply put the weights back to the rack when you’re done. It’s not the employee’s job to be a housekeep and clean up after you. I talked to the gym owner and he was 3 steps ahead of me on the issue. He wrote a note and placed it all over the gym saying that any member that does not put the weights back will be subject to their gym membership being revoked. I’m not sure he really will revoke their membership, but i think he is just trying to get people’s attention. "It’s a safety issue moreso than a cleanliness issue" from where he was coming from.
EZ Bar Curl/Deadlift Superset 3 sets 10 reps
DB Hammer Curl/Pull-up Superset 3 sets 10 reps
Triceps Pushdown/Seated Lat Pull Superset 3 sets 12 reps
Kick Back/One Arm DB Row Superset 3 sets 12 reps

Im working in a gym (luckily its a corporate facility so the members clean up) but when they dont its so annoying on top of teach group exercise classes and doing my own training to have pick up dumbells and barbells all day! PEOPLE CLEAN UP WHEN YOUR DONE BURN THOSE EXTRA CALORIES

I’m with you, we have the same problem and the owners made flyers that said anyone caught not putting the weights away over and over will be charged an extra $10 a month….hasnt helped. Nice supersets Wayne.

That’s right about the lawsuit. He has to protect his investment. A lawsuit almost definately will force him to close the gym

I totally agree, I’ve stubbed more than a few toes and had to search the gym for weights that were left lying around. I also think the gym employees should make sure the paper towel dispensers and spray bottles are always full for those of us that do clean up after ourselves.
In a perfect world eh?

Slips, trips, and falls are a big liability issue.

I swear, that drives me crazy. And yes, someone could get hurt. I have a couple of senior female clients and one of them almost tripped over the weights being left on the floor. Sometimes I hear other trainers telling trainers that are guilty of doing that, ‘ Your momma doesn’t work here, pick up after yourself! ‘

I agree completely. One day when I am a millionaire and I have my own gym, I will kick people out for that shit. That, and plucking weights off the racks of the machine that someone is under load on. Man that is aggravating.

yeah sometimes i kinda wish they would stumble over some just to show them how dangerous it can be to leave that stuff lying around

I hate it because I waste time walking around the gym hunting for weights. Especially the curl bars. If folks want to leave weights ALL over the floor then build their own home gym.
