Ok…today I had my last free seesion with Shawn….today I did some snatch and presses with a 25-lb dumbbell and some DB bent over rows. We also did some tire flipping with the 450-lb tire and some work with the sledgehammer. We finished up with some ab work. After all three sessions with him, I learned alot of stuff that I will definitely incorporate in my training.

Today, there won’t be my traditional log but I did train today. When I joined this new gym, I got 3 free personal training sessions. Today, I decided to use one of them. The trainier I worked with, Shawn(sp?), showed some new things that I really didn’t know and really sat down and talked to me about my training and what I can do to achieved my goals. I found out today that I weigh a whopping 345lbs. I actually thought I was 300lbs. I got some work to do. He took me through some serious circuit training…we did weighted sled work, pushups, squats, clean and presses, and medicine ball work. After we finished, I was soaked in sweat. It actually felt good to have someone say "I see your dedication and I really want to work with you." I just have to get the money to work with him. It was a great session and I have another one with him tomorrow. Expect great things from me in the future.

This past week has been a good one for my training…even with the accident I had at the gym. The muscle memory is kicking in and things are taking shape. My chest and arms look and feel fuller and denser. My legs are adding size and my back is thickening. I’m in this for the long haul and there is nothing that will stop me. I plan on competing in a bench meet in late November - right around Thanksgiving. I’ll be modifying my training so I can start preparing for that. This will be my first meet ever. I’m both excited and scared about it but I know that I will give it my all and put it all on the table.

Ok…I joined a new gym yestrday and today was the first workout in the new gym and for lack of a better term…it sucked! I don’t know what was wrong with me today but I couldn’t lift as much as I normally do. I may need to change some things around and start completely from scratch. I don’t know but one thing I do know is that I’m not going to let this stop from pushing hard in the gym.
