HIITing it correctly?
Tuesday, May 1st, 2007When exactly do you know you are doing your HIIT with the correct intensity? Recently I was reading up on the cardio and it talked about getting my heart rate up to 175-180. I did a 20 Min HIIT routine from BFL. It consisted of 1 min warm up, then 1 min at 50%, 1 at 60%, 1 at 70% and 1 at 80% then going back to 50% and starting over. Repeat 4 times then kick it to 90% for 1 min then 100% for 1 min and then 1 min cooldown.
Recently that wasn’t so hard but now my endurance is getting up there and today on the treadmill my 50% was at 6 mph. I added 1 mph for each step. My 90% was 9.5 and my 100% was 10. It took to these last two to get my heart rate up.
My normal resting heart rate is 45-50 bpm.
