Another week down…

Well, it’s the end of my fourth week and I’m up to 86kg!! Not seeing much in the way of size gains, my traps and shoulders may have grown a little (hard to tell when you see yourself every day)  and my body fat is roughly the same (impressive for nearly 20 extra lbs of weight!).

All this week I was paranoid about over-training (due to my 6 day routine) but I’ve gained a HUGE amount of weight and my arms are finally growing!! :) so I guess I’m not doing too much wrong! It’s strange how my weight seems to be coming in short ‘bursts’ rather than a gradual gain in weight.

I think I was bordering on tendonitis in my forearms, I added in 2 extra forearm work sessions and that’s when the pain started. I’ve cut it right back to some extra work with my arms on Thursdays and that’s it.

I keep reading on the various boards that the noticeable size gains can be as late as week 6 so I guess I’ll just have to be patient.

HCG starts this coming week (5), so I’ll be pinning the day after my test shots all the way up to week 10, think I’ll reconstitute the HCG today and refrigerate to save some time.

So far this cycle couldn’t have gone better! :) I think I’ll stick with injectables for all future cycles, I don’t fancy risking my liver and testosterone seems to agree with me (Maybe just kick start the next cycle with some prop?).

Back to the Quads…

Well, 3rd round of pinning began again and it was all good :) Quads FTW!! Little to no pain, went in smooth as butter.

Weighed in today at 83kg!!! (182lbs) That’s a 6kg (13.8lb) increase!! Well chuffed! :) So I’ll stick with the 4000kcal/day for now and see how the weight fluctuates next week.

Great workout today, great pumps and a mate commented that I was looking bigger! :D All good.

Oh and I’m all better now :)

Sick as a dog… :(

Well maybe overreacting a bit but I feel like cr*p!

A flu virus has been circulating around recently on campus/town and since I’m training so hard at the moment (ok that’s an understatement, my training intensity has been NUTS!) my immune system must be down because the blocked nose, headaches etc. started yesterday :(

I hit it on the head though! Good old home-remedies to the rescue! I cut up a massive piece of ginger root and infused it with some lemon juice and two bags of green tea in 0.75L water, seems to have done the trick :)

I weigh in tomorrow, getting a bit fatter but I don’t care I don’t have to impress anyone! Hopefully the mass gains will come soon :)

Quad shot tomorrow (good riddance delts!).

God I feel like a prat today!

Just finished my second delt injection (OMG does it hurt!) :( and almost had a heart attack because I forgot to aspirate fully! I dove in headfirst with the lance and started to inject, realised after about 0.1ml and then tried to aspirate!

That could have been fatal, I will NEVER do that again. Especially since I take every other precaution to keep things sterile and do things properly.

I tried heating up the oil today, it drew a little easier so I think I’ll do it for all my other injections.

No fountains of blood thankfully from the right delt, just pain, pain, pain!

OMFG delt shots hurt! :(

As you have probably guessed I did my first delt shot today and I am currently in agony :(

Since the quad shots had gone so well I thought I’d give the legs a rest and shoot the shoulders today…big mistake! First of all, as soon as the pin came out, a stream of blood went everywhere! (when I aspirated there was no blood though) and it left a lump in my medial delt which thankfully (4 hours later) has gone down.

I trained chest and back today, it was an awesome workout but the pain was excruciating!

I’m honestly NOT looking forward to training my shoulders on wednesday and friday, plus I have to shoot the other delt on Thursday!

I’ll probably shoot delts again depending on how quickly the pain subsides (small muscle group so it might go away fast), if it’s this painful to shoot small muscle groups I might leave my arms free for a while! (ventromedial glute next!)

LET’S GET IT ON!!!!

I just got back from the BEST workout I’ve had in possibly years! :)

Whilst I still think it’s a bit early to start getting the strength gains from the gear (5th day on) I felt like a MACHINE in the gym today! I honestly had to physically stop myself training because I would have trained all day! It was an almost ‘euphoric’ feeling, I was happy, pumped, strong and felt great throughout my workout.

The best part was that it was during a shoulder workout, which for me I find REALLY hard to get a pump or work hard during. The week before doing the same workout, I felt weak, tired and depressed, today I was like a new man…

I cannot wait to hit my lagging bodyparts tomorrow, I watched a short clip on YouTube this morning with Greg Valentino and whilst I don’t think he looks that great, he did remind me of some important training rules:

"If it ain’t working, ditch it!"

When it comes to arms training (a seriously lagging bodypart for me) I find it REALLY difficult to feel the contraction, I’ve tried dumbells, barbells, EZ bars and indirect work (chin-ups), nothing seems to work.

However!! CABLES seems to work a treat! :D So I’m going to ditch all bicep exercises that involve the barbell, just use the dumbell exercises that I feel working (hammer curls) and concentrate on cable curls.

Triceps seem to be ok, I get a great pump doing all Tricep exercises so I’ll stick with what I’m doing for those.

SO happy right now! Can’t wait for the gains to properly kick in!

P.S. Myofascial release is a GODSEND for relieving knots from injections! :D

The second pin…

Just finished doing my second injection and thought I’d post how things are going.

The second pin went fine, I cut myself on the bloody amp though!! :( (i’ve got single glass amps not a large vial), note to self: WEAKEN the neck first!

As I thought, the second injection was a lot easier to deal with than the first, take things slowly and it’s child’s play :)

General thoughts so far:

1. Lifting strength and gym intensity has gone WAY up, I think this is due to the extra calories though (I boosted them by about 600kcal, averaging at around 2lbs weight gain a week), the strength gains seem to come in the second week from what I’ve read/heard.

2. No side effects so far, no shrinkage, headaches, aggression, just a little sore at the injection sites (bruised feeling) :)

3. The arimidex I’m dosing at 0.5mg EOD, it seems to be doing an awesome job of keeping water retention down.

4. I’m practically OCD about gyno! I keep checking my nipples and feeling for itchiness, soreness, puffiness, lumps etc. but nothing so far (thankfully).

Here’s a list of additional supps I’m using whilst on:

1. General multivitamin (one a day, might change this to animal pak or orange triad if I can afford it)
2. High strength Fish Oil at 6g per day (taken at breakfast)
3. 400mcg Chromium per day (200mcg at breakfast and 200 pre-workout)
4. Zinc and Magnesium before bed (awesome for sleep)
5. Whey protein (Dymatize Elite whey)

I’m going to buy some Reduce XT for PCT (to control cortisol post cycle), creatine monohydrate and possible a natural test booster (Diesel Test) to help recover.

Can’t wait for the test to properly kick in! Will definitely post some pictures post cycle.

Quick Update…

I thought I’d update on how I’m feeling ‘post-injection’.

Throughout the day after my first injection my right quadricep felt like it had been ‘bruised’, no swelling, no heat or itchiness, just like there was a deep bruise within my muscle. It didn’t restrict my movement at all and stretching out the muscle during the day did help with the pain.

I woke up this morning and checked the injection site, to be honest I struggled to find it! :) There was no swelling, rash or anything so my first injection must have gone well! My leg still feels bruised, so I’ll be interested to see if the pain reduces as the oil dissipates.

So I can dispel any myths (for me anyway) that quadriceps injections are painful, I injected as suggested (1") and everything seems ok.

Looking forward to my next shot on Thursday! Another update soon.

The darkside…

Well, I did my first today (this morning) and to be honest it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I’ve taken the plunge and now I’m on my way to some serious muscle mass!!

Here’s my take for anyone who reads this and may need some pointers:

I took a hot shower and scrubbed my skin all over.

Loaded up a syringe with 1 ml of oil (took ages with a 25g needle).

Changed needles and swabbed my quad off with an alcohol wipe.

I must have held the needle above my skin for a good 30 seconds, then I told myself, "stop being a PUSSY!!" a drove the whole 1" in, (from what I’ve read, deeper is generally better).

I aspirated and a small air bubble came into the syringe (good sign!) and no blood :) so I started to inject SLOWLY. It took a good 45 seconds to get the whole 1 ml in.

When I pulled out a bit of blood came out too, I just swabbed off (twice to be sure!!) and put a plaster over it to cover the wound.

Some other points:

I felt lightheaded straight away! Lying down helps immensely with this and a small glass of water.
My quad ‘aches’ like it’s been worked out already! I’ll see how the pain goes.

I’m training later this morning, can’t wait!!

Time to gain some muscle…

After a bit of a lay-off from my blog I’ve decided to update properly (pictures to follow at the end of the week).

I took some time off from the bboying to let an old injury heal a bit (shin splints), I was just aggravating it and it was affecting my lifting in a BIG way.

After my last competition, I competed at 9% bodyfat and decided to bulk for a bit, BIG MISTAKE!! I upped the calories FAR too quickly and had to fight to keep the fat down towards the end of the bulk.

In the last 6 weeks I’ve been cutting the flab off and I’m down to sub 10% again. This time I WON’T make the same mistake.

I want to gain 15lbs of lean muscle mass before the end of the summer, stay tuned for updates!
