C26K
All I can say is I am so glad I am alive and living! There is a
difference between being alive and living. I am LIVING!! I love working
out!!!! The gym has always been there and never leaves me. If I am
having an "I can't do this" kinda day, the gym doesn't mock me or point
and laugh. It's always there offering me another machine, another DB,
another weight.......
I missed the first 6 weeks of this competition due to surgery. I missed 2
more weeks due to a pulled back muscle. But guess what? I am still on
track! I am in the gym lifting more, learning more, shedding fat more,
and building more muscle!!
I do have a time with nutrition tho. Not eating the wrong things of
anything bad, but, just eating in general. I may eat 600-700 calories a
day. I am just not hungry. I have to force myself to eat. Nothing looks
good or gets my appetite going. I eat to live! lol Now I was starving
once yesterday, so that was good! lol
I began this C25K (couch to 5K) thing yesterday. I used to run track
back in high school, oh some 27 years ago, and I wanted to start again
but feared my knees and ankles wouldn't be able to handle it. I had a
great run yesterday and no pains today! This program is more like a HIIT
to begin. You walk 5 minutes to warm up then jog 60 seconds, walk 90
seconds, jog, walk, back and forth for 20 minutes then do another 5
minute walk to cool down. A total of 30 minutes. Do this 3 times a week.
Each week the numbers change so you will be able to run a 5K by the end
of the 9th week without stopping.
If you have strayed off track with training or eating, it's ok. You have
another chance every second of every day! Do this for youself because
no one can do it for you!!
OMG
Monday night. AFTER my last rep on my last set (of Legs & Tris) as I turned to sit the DB down, I pulled my lower right back. Tears, can't breathe kinda pull. Yesterday morning I got up throwing up from the pain.
Went to the Dr and was told it was a slipped disc. Got a steroid & pain shot, and scripts for muscle relaxers and a compound for a muscle rub. Dropped those off at 1:30p, got home and threw up again!
Took a phenergan and went to bed. I got up at 6:30p and my daughter went to get my meds and they didn't have them! Idiots could have called all afternoon to tell me so I could go somewhere else YESTERDAY! gggrrrr
Dr also said NO YOGA....WTF? I asked wouldn't it be ok since I need to stretch it out? NOOOOO stretching is bad cuz it's a disc not a muscle. I just dunno, I still think it's muscle!
This morning I feel better. Still achy, but a lot better!! No yoga tomorrow either, but I am going to the gym to do Chest & Shoulder! Take that disc!
End of My 6 Week Torture
Went to the dr. Wednesday for my 6 week post op check up and I was
released!! Now I went back to the gym last week to very light weights,
but Wednesday I went heavy on Back & Bis! Then yoga that night. On
Thursday, I did Squats!! Yay!! And Leg Presses with plates!! Plus
Extensions, calf raises and ham curls. I went a lil crazy...lol...after a
huge Leg Workout, I did Zumba for an hour that night. The next morning I
went to yoga. I was so sore Friday I could barely move! My arm pits
were so sore it hurt to put on deodorant! lol I could barely walk. My
knees and ankles and hips were aching! Today I feel great! Bout to go
bust out some Chest & Shoulders!!
6 Week Check Up
Going for my 6 week check up today. Hoping to be released back to my normal stuff. I wanna do Squats and Deads! lol Funny how we miss things! Gonna do measurements tonight, if I don't forget! My last day of the 12 Week Transformation is March 24, so I have only got a few more days to make up for being off for 6 weeks!! Gonna go into BEAST MODE!!!!
After 35 days
After 35 days of rest, I went back to the gym yesterday. I went very light. It didn't hurt and I feel fine today! Going back this afternoon too. I have lost another 5 pounds!! Woo hoo!! Clean eating is so important. And I continued to take my CLA, Green Tea Extract and L-Carnitine.
I can't wait to get back to where I was when I had my surgery!! One bad thing....I had gotten some Versa Gripp Pro gloves and I forgot to take them with me! They are in my bag now tho!!
Post-Op
I had a total hysterectomy Wednesday morning. Spent the night at hospital and came home Thursday evening. Once I got out of recovery, I only had 20 minutes of sleep. Since I got home, seems all I do is sleep! lol I try to watch tv or play a game and I doze off!
I was on a morphine pump and that kept me awake. Plus all the people coming in & out. So I sleep a lot now. I'm falling asleep while writing this!
More tomorrow or Tuesday......
Surgery
On Wednesday I had a total hysterectomy. I had a morphine pump and stayed up all day and night. Came home Thursday evening and have slept almost the whole time I've been home! As of right now I have to take 3 weeks off from everything. I'm going to go crazy I swear!
The last few days..
The last few days I have been double work outs! Two sessions a day. I think I am going to die! lol Nah, not really. I have just been trying to get extra in before next Wed. Bad thing is I am liking it too much and will have to come to a complete stop! Boo! But a week or so off will be ok. Gives me time to learn more stuff and make more plans. A day or two in the hospital having my meals brought to me will be nice too!
As long as I get good foods, I will be ok. I am taking my protein powder, my shaker bottle and some peanut butter!
