Naughty Night’s
Maybe someone can explain this to me:
I can do soooo well all day, eating right and being healthy and working out etc etc… but I always get my cravings for bad foods at night. Now I know I’m always up late but I seem to have a weakness for bad foods once it gets dark. Is it that my years prior to this have built bad habits, or is my body trying to tell me something. Some days it craves sugar but other times salty foods so it’s not even consistent.
Is it something I may be doing wrong during the day or am I just going to have to develop more of a backbone and learn self-discipline?

I have the same problem. A) you need a backbone. B) go to bed. C) I always get sugar free hard candy to tide me over. It’s really about choices.
p.s. C) is not too popular

like you and vike I have the same problem. I couldn’t agree with vike’s advice more though… it’s all up to you just saying that you’re not going to give in to the cravings and forcing yourself to go to bed. I just try to think about how hard I had worked out that day and think of all the progress that I will have lost just from one little snack before bed…. I replaced all my "goodie" cravings with fruit and it’s worked out great. now I actually crave things like apples, banana’s, and grapes instead of candy, chips, and cookies

as both guys have said, some more harsh then others, just think about your hard work and the even harder work it takes to get that fod off you again
its about keeping yourself busy and occupying your mind insteard of thinking about food. Its hard but it doeshelp. Things I was told to try was brush your teeth as all food tastes bad after that, or go rink some water, or maybe try bed earlier. I know it sucks cos Im a night owl too

Hi, honestly, there are two things that are driving your cravings, one is that after dark, cortisol levels rise, as do other hormones in your body that actually FUEL cravings. thats why its recommended to get your eating on a plan and then stick to it. Also, if you can hit the hay by 10, you are doing good. And as for me, I but sugar free popsicles. only 10 calories each and boy do they satisfy my cravings. Driving home from my nightimte cardio at 930, passing carls jjr, taco bell, etc. and of coursze my stomach growls knowing i have to eat cottage cheese before bed. But when i walk in the door and eat just one of those frozen little treats, all cravings go bye bye.

just remember, bad habits are hard to break, but can be broken……..just drive your cravings into something mor elike fruits or veggies, or protein bars

You don’t look as though a small "cheat" snack would really do alot of damage. Forcing yourself to abstain from food is not the answer if you are already thin and are just toning up for a cool summer vacation in New York. Go ahead and take no more than a handful of whatever. Drink some water or gatorade with it. Your body may actually be needing these sugars but just not at a "bagfull" amount. I like your routine. You really should post some photos and boost your self-esteem. I think this is really your main issue. P.S. Great smile!
