Bicycling on a Grey Morning
I awoke to a grey morning. It was overcast, and I needed a push to get out of bed. I checked the weather forecast, and saw that much of the day would be grey, but showers were not imminent. I decided to go on a bicycle ride. I smartened up at the start, practicing getting into and out of my toe clips, I wanted to ride without fear of stopping. I then set out on my ride. 20 miles of scenic meadows, and some lakeshore views of Lake Champlain. 1:13 minutes of alone time. Just me meditating in my saddle. What a glorious way to start the day.

Great ride. I liked the bit in the earlier blog about the clip pedals. I tried them once and didn’t get out of my drive way without falling down and bloodying my shin. Tried to adjust them but it didn’t quite work. So no clips yet for me. I definitely don’t want to try the topple-to-stop method again!

The first time I rode with the clips I was in trouble, but luckily, I didn’t need to stop on the ride, tumbling onto a grassy hill in my yard. Hence the practice session before riding today.

I put off getting the clips for a long time, the efficiency with them though is well worth it.
Very nervous the first few rides though. THe ones I got though I can reef my feet out of pretty easily in an emergency luckily, I have had a few calls.
