My "Celestial Seasonings" tea came with a sample pack of a new flavor called, Madagascar Vanilla Red, when it occurred to me that those who like the flavor of vanilla but do not want to add vanilla extract (unhealthy) to their oatmeal can just steep a bag of this tea in a cup and use it to cook their oatmeal. You’ll get a nice vanilla flavor and/or you can also add some whole cloves, cinnamon (my favorite), and splenda. ..yummy. I always come up with great ideas! You have to be inventive when eating healthy. And, if you like fruity flavors, why not try using fruity teas too?

To those who drink whey and caseine protein, why not buy the pure protein itself (unflavored), as I do, and flavor it yourself? Unflavored protein has 0 sugar, 0 fat, very little sodium, and a moderate amount of carbs. If you like the flavor of chocolate with your protein, use a tablespoon of pure baking chocolate (see previous blog for nutritional info) and splenda. If you like strawberry or any other fruit flavor, use fresh frozen fruit (but, read the ingredients some frozen fruit has added sugar, so be sure it has no added sugar), 1/4 fresh banana (optional), and splenda. You can also add anything else you’d like to the unflavored protein such as sugar free jam/jelly (whatever you wanna call it, but read the ingredients to avoid corn syrup or any other crap). Again, you may add cinnamon along with any of these suggestions; I add cinnamon to all my shakes along with whatever flavor I’m in the mood for. Again, inventive
!
Of course, you can vary the flavor of your protein to your liking.
