The lesson

I have a training partner for two months now. Since he just started weight training, I’m clearly stronger than him on every lift. Noneless, when I look at him train, I say to myself, this is the spirit, this is what I need to achieve if I want to reach my goals. His form is horrible on most of the lift, the weight on his bar is not enough for me to warm up properly, but he has a drive that must be admire.

Today, between the second last and the last set of his deadlift (our last exercise), he felt sick so he took five minute break between his set and threw up a little while trying to recover (disgusting, I know). I did my last set while I tought he was telling himself that this time he had taken it too far, but I was wrong. When I put down the bar after my last rep, he told me, "you did your set, now I’ll do mine". We put his weight on the bar and he did eleven reps of the ten he was suppose to do.

Look around you, there is always someone that has a lesson to teach you.
