Random exercises thrown in? Who all does it.
So each day I go to the gym with a plan. I stick to the back one day, chest another, so on and so forth but I always seem to find myself throwing in little things that have no relevance to what I’m actually working on that day. I don’t write down what I do when I work out but I have been logging it on here lately and just go by memory. Who else does this? And if you so do you write down your workouts as your doing them?

confused as to the question….i only go into the gym with the bodypart i’m gonna train…the exercises i decide and make up as i got along…except alot of times the first exercise will be the same each time….squat for legs for example…but other than that i just go with the flow

It’s called "Flex workout". Muscles have memory, so if you stay with same routine constantly, often you advance slower. I, too, am a "flex workout" freak. Nope…no notebook for me. Not sure if that’s good or bad, but I just "go with what my gut and mind feels" at the time. Of course, being at the gym 6 days a week kinda allows me to "not miss anything". The trick is…if it works for you….then do it. If it ain’t broke…don’t fix it. LOL. Good luck!

Okay well I’ll be into my chest routine but in between sets for example i’ll find myself doing pull ups or curls, something along those lines. I enjoy the change up and like to keep my body always guessing.

I usually end up doing that too. If I get the urge to do something extra, I just do it.
