It will be The Hitman versus The Natural Born Killer as The Ultimate Fighting Championship set its sights on Nashville Tennessee this Wednesday night.
Former WEC welterweight champion Carlos “The Natural Born Killer” Condit will make his UFC debut as he faces Martin “The Hitman” Kampmann, its UFC Fight Night 18 April 1st live on SPIKE TV.
The night of fights will usher in the newest season of “The Ultimate Fighter USA VS UK,” and will feature many of the fighters that competed in past seasons of TUF. Ryan Bader, who won last seasons title, will be in action against Carmelo Marerro. Tyson Griffin will face Rafael dos Anjos and Junie Browning will meet up with Cole Miller.
With no easy fights in the UFC, Carlos Condit will have his hands full with any of the UFC welterweights; Martin Kampmann is no exception.
As a middleweight, Kampmann earned a 4-1 record with his lone loss coming to Nate Marquardt at UFC 88. The Xtreme Couture fighter will be making his second appearance in the welterweight class after he earned a TKO victory over another UFC newcomer, Alexander Barros.
Ranked by many observers as a top ten welterweight, Carlos Condit boasts notable victories over Frank Trigg, John Alessio and Brock Larson. He’s compiled an impressive record of 22-4 and is currently riding an eight-fight win streak.
Both fighters are very well rounded and equally matched. Kampmann is a known commodity within the UFC community and it might be the X factor. Condit will undoubtedly feel the pressure to put on a great performance for his debut. With those big light jitters and the fact that he has recently switched training camps, he might have too much on his mind to come out victorious.
It should be a great fight with the winner inching closer to top five contention.
