Week 4 - Marion Mayhem
Monday, April 7th, 2008Another game another loss. This is getting a little old. Basically we played the played, arguably, the worst team in the league and lost. To be honest…our defense couldn’t stop an old lady crossing the street. The offense did as much as it could scoring 53 points. We were in a track meet until our starting QB went down at the end of the 3rd. Overall….we lost 62-53 as a team.
This week we play a .500 team in Marion, OH. There are some changes coming to the coaching staff being that our OC quit the night before the game and a new coach was added earlier in the week. At this point…all we can do is get better. Hopefully we can get somethings figured out as a team and finally get that elusive 1st win.
Week 3 - Flint Phantoms
Tuesday, April 1st, 2008So we lost again this past weekend. The score was 60-34. It was one of those losses that just make you start questioning everything you’ve done up to this point. I did not play in the game due to an "acute gout attack". I can honestly say that this Gout thing has been the absolutely most painful thing that I have ever dealt with. I would have easily traded another knee surgery over the pain I got in my big toe from this thing. I’m just glad it has started to go away, so there’s a decent chance that I am going to play this week.
That’s about the biggest thing that I learned from this thing…this team really needs me at Center. My backup, who is a good friend of mine, didn’t really have the greatest of showings. He’ll tell you he hates playing Center anyways. He’s more of a Guard/DT type. Center takes a little more finesse than those positions. He did a good job, but there was way too much pressure on the QB for my liking and I there were one too many sacks given up by the line as a whole.
On to Flint. Flint is an expansion team looking for their first win, like us. We’ve, at least, been able to score points against people where as Flint could only muster 8 points against their division rival/expansion team Saginaw. I’m hoping that we can get into the winning column this week and build some steam for our two game road trip that follows. Stay Tuned!
Week 2 - Meskegon Thunder
Tuesday, March 25th, 2008Well we lost out 1st game in franchise history 64-41 against the Chicago Slaughter. It was a pretty physical game from start to finish. I know I have a few nice bruises to show for my efforts. Overall I thought we proved we could hang with one of the best teams in this league. Once we get our defense figured out we should be good to go.
I, personally, thought I did pretty well. I had a couple bad blocks and a false start, but I held my own. Our line as a whole pretty much shutdown what they were trying to do. They had a very quick and impressive D-line headed up by a guy who was playing for the Chicago Rush last year. For us to not give up a sack and only 2.5 tackles is something to be happy about.
This week week we have Muskegon. I don’t really know anything about them, but their QB was player of the week in their 1st game this year. It should be a good match up and hopefully we’ll get the 1st win under our belts.
Cheers!
Week 1 - Chicago Slaughter
Wednesday, March 19th, 2008Well…we’ve made it this far. It is now the week of the 1st regular season game in Milwaukee Bonecrushers history and it’s against the Chicago Slaughter. Camp/Pre-season has been absolutely insane! I can honestly say that this has been the hardest, most grueling thing that I have ever done in order to get ready for a football season. That is saying a lot considering this is my 9th indoor football team that I have been associated with. I have literally lost my ass in the process. When I was playing outdoors, about 5 months ago, I was in the 335lbs range and now I am struggling to stay above 300lbs. I’ve NEVER has this problem before, but I guess that’s a good thing in the long run. Now that I’m about 10 lbs away from my high school weight, we’ll see what kind of quickness these legs have left in ‘em.
Once the game has been played I’ll write a bit on how we did as a team and how I did individually. Oh, and by the way, I’m the starting Center.
Go ‘Crushers!

Camp/Pre-Season
Friday, February 29th, 2008I haven’t written on this thing in a while, so here we are. Camp with the Bonecrushers has been tough. I can honestly say that I’ve never been in the kind of shape that I am now. All of the conditioning we’ve been doing as a team has just made the pounds melt off. I’ve been as low as 305 lbs. which is the lightest I’ve been since I was in high school. The cool thing is that I’ve been able to keep my strength during all this. Nothing wrong with gaining a little quickness. ![]()
We are about one week out from the 1st and only pre-season game against the Ft. Wayne Freedom. I know I am personally looking forward to exacting a little revenge on one of the teams that I was formerly a member. It should be fun to hit someone else besides my teammates in practice for a change.
Still In Training Mode
Tuesday, December 4th, 2007Being that it is still the off season I’m still in training mode. I’ve taken the past 5 days off from the weight room to cleanse my system of the last batch of supplements I was taking so I could start some new stuff (Super Cissus RX & Animal M-Stack). I also took the time off to try to get a strained muscle in my shoulder to heal a little bit. With that being said I did participate in the 1st mini camp for the Milwaukee Bonecrushers over the weekend. It was nice to finally get with the guys and start doing football stuff. All the meetings and things that we have been having were getting a little boring. Overall I think the mini camp was a success. We have A LOT of things to work on, myself included, but you need to start somewhere. Once we get the wrinkles ironed out we’ll be in great shape. Stay tuned…next mini camp Dec. 16th.
Training
Wednesday, October 31st, 2007Nothing all that interesting going on. Just training for this coming Indoor season. I have started to utilize the Workout Tracker featured of this site. It’s pretty cool little tool. I’m really diggin’ it. Other than that…it’s business as usual.
Made it through the outdoor season, now comes indoor
Tuesday, October 16th, 2007Now that the outdoor football season has come to a close for me, it’s time to refocus my training and get ready for the indoor football season. I have signed on to play with the Milwaukee Bonecrushers of the CIFL this Spring. I have a couple months to get my off season training down to get ready for the indoor game. Stay tuned!
Surgery No.2 - Week 5 (Cleared)
Monday, August 13th, 2007It’s now been almost five weeks since my last knee surgery and all things are GO! The doc released me last Thursday, so I could resume playing football again. Now it’s just a matter of getting the muscular side of things straightened out with the knee. Once all that is done…I’ll be back to full tilt on and off the field. Keep checking back for updates.
