First show finished!!!

August 17, 2009

Well everyone I competed in my first show, teh "Texas Fit Model Search". I did not place in the top 5; but I enjoyed the experience all the same. I learned a great deal of things about myself most of all committent, determination and drive are all mine to be had. Once YOU have made the decision others will see it in you and begin to support you. There are a great deal of people that supported me and helped me through this ordeal. NLFitness got me started on this journey so check him out, he is a bad ass trainer and nutritionist. Avery and Trish Williams the owners of Fitness Training Studios and my sponsors, these are the most sincere and encouraging people out there. To my BodySpace buds, LiciKing, my fellow Aries always keeping my head level and telling to push on. To my Austin homies jgegg512 and niknak32, holdin it down for the ATX, leave some room for me. And to cftstorres, thanks for the advise and support and……..well you know.

I did get some wonderful feedback in that I did not place due to being too muscular, ha who would’ve thought. I got many leads to do photoshoots and videos. I finished a photoshoot with the photographer that was covering the competition for the magazine. I was one of 5 chosen out of all 22 competitors to do the photoshoot. And two of the 5 were the 1 & 3 place winners, so that goes to show you don’t always have to win to be on top.

Well look for me in October at the Alamo Showdown in San Antoino, Texas; I will be competing in bodybuilding this time

IMAGINE BEING A WINNER, TRAIN LIKE A WINNER, and LIVE LIKE A WINNER!!!!!

March 12, 2009

I don’t do this very often but here it goes. I am amazed at how many indiviuals ask me “man how do you do it”. Granted I’m very humble, I don’t think I have done anything amazing, YET. However, the dedication and drive is there. I am perplexed that people actually form the words to say they want to achieve something but do not take the needed steps to get there or just simply change it to something easily attainable. Achieving goals takes FREAKING effort; especially fitness goals. You have to eat differently, lift differently, do cardio differently, (I did not say heavier or longer). I hear it all the time, I had this to do, the weather isn’t cooperating, etc. Get over it people, set a goal and keep your eye on the prize! Eliminate the dumb stuff, move all the craziness out of your life, eradicate the negative influences and get on with it. A good support system helps too. For exampble, I was spotting a guy in the gym yesterday and he told me “this is the most I have ever lifted”; I told him “let’s go, you can do it, get your mind right to lift the weight, I am not going to let the bar fall on you”. Find the support that says, failure is not an option!!! Life is life and it is what you make of it. It is time to cease living a defeated life. IMAGINE BEING A WINNER, TRAIN LIKE A WINNER, and LIVE LIKE A WINNER!!!!!
