Weigh in Day

Since today is the first of the month it was weigh in day.  My weight is the same which is exciting for me.  Sounds strange huh!  It’s exciting because I have been increasing my eating along with my workouts to fuel them and my long runs and I’m NOT gaining weight which takes away some of my food fear.  I’m still eating healthy and making good choices 90% of the time but it’s reassuring to know I can eat more and not GAIN any weight.  I have added in some more protein which I’m sure I was lacking before.  I make sure to use a full scoop (and another half after weights on heavy days) of protein powder and I’m eating a little more meat.  I’m just not a red meat gal so I’ve been doing mostly grilled chicken.

My waist measurements went town a tad but I don’t pay too much attention to that due to bloating and sodium intake.  I’m really not looking to lose weight just tighten up.  Heavy lifting is helping me do that.  I slipped right into a pair of my jeans yesterday instead of having them be tight until they "stretched" out LOL.  So even though my weight isn’t changing my body is.  Today is also Month 1 of 12 month long picture story.  I’m going to (or have one of my daughters) take a series of pictures in my bikini and then I am going to put them in a folder so I can see a difference.  When I look in the mirror I don’t always notice small changes and I do it often enough that I don’t always notice ANY changes.

Today is the last run for my DD before the 5K on Saturday.  She has improved tremendously.  She ran .6 miles WITHOUT slowing down or stopping yesterday…she might take after me after all LOL.  I also helped a friend shave 2 minutes off her timed 5K.  I’m a pretty good motivator :) …I’m just mean to myself :(

Today should be a good day.  A friend is coming over for a walk and some coffee.  Hopefully if it warms up we can head to the pool for a few hours and just relax and read.
