Thanks again to all the great Sponsers…you gave us all a great kick start..

My losses are minimal…I almost feel bad my team name was Team Xtreme…yikes! But I put on some great strength, dropped approx 5% BF, and put 25 lbs on my bench…not to shabby..looking forward to the future to come.

Its been fun!

Wrapping this up on a strong note.

Three days left.  I want to end this contest with a strong finish so I will post my last video. The videos are not something that I will miss.  I dreaded them every week.  We all know that my favorite exercise is the bench press and I might as well finish on the right bench with a personal best.

Getting better…

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

fusioncom

So getting near the end of this contest. My progress thus far has been purely in strength gains, my fat loss has been very minimal which I’m not super happy about, but progress has come.

Due to my lack of a good camera you’ll have to excuse the bad video quality, and lack of editing as my Movie Maker app wont edit .mov files which is what this camera puts them in.

Anyways, just a quick comparison of pushups from the start of the competition, until today…today I go lower, and to me seem a little faster….one day I’ll do them Malibuilder style.

Now…Please excuse the heavy breathing (still pushing allot of weight here :) ) and excuse the small excuse for a dog in the background.

I had problems posting on the blog for the past few days. I write my blog entry, pres the submit and nothing, returns blank…argh

Actually I am writing this post without even knowing if it will work, well I just hope it will.

Anyways I have a killer week behind me. Besides the gym and regular cardio, we pushed the tempo on the boxing on Saturday and Sunday. Right now I am sitting in my office and writing this post but I really have problems with only sitting. The man I am working out with is a beast and true athlete. I have never saw anyone with such will power and dedication for the sport. Beside the fact he is a true street warrior, the man never had a day competing in a ring, but had more than one on the streets. He’s got scars from an axe on his head and about a million of others on his body and head. If someone would tell me about person like such, I would be thinking hooligan or something like that. But this man is an excellent gym instructor, boxer and kick boxer for the last 25 years, he is with one woman for 17 years and I can see they love each other very much, and also he is chiropractic specialized for spine manipulation. This is not an ordinary man. Just to give you the idea of how dedicated this man is I will tell you a story about him you will find hard to believe.

Some years ago he was diagnosed with appendix inflammation, such condition is only treatable with complete removal of the appendix because of the real life threat of appendix bursting and blood poison and eventual death. Doctor told him the operation was the only way. Slobo (the boxer) asked how long will he not be able to workout, and when they told him two months at least he just got up from the chair and walked to the home. "There is nothing in this world that can make me stop training." - ha was saying, and doctors called him a mad man. Six times over the years his appendix was at the verge or bursting but he just stood there, takes some pain killers and puts some ice on the stomach and tomorrow hi is back in the gym. I am not saying this is an example to follow, and I am sure he will have to remove his appendix some day or die but can you imagine such mind over matter power, to overcome the fear of loosing your life to train another day. I can only dream of such dedication. This man is one of few people I admire in my life and I can only hope I will earn half of his dedication in life.

Anyways here is the workout clip I tried to add last week:

The last week was rough.

You already heard about my diet problem, and I am now almost entirely sure it is the wheat oats I ate all the past week. My weight was not moving at all, just stood there at the same spot. I also experienced energy drop. It was hard for me to get up in the 05:30AM and do the morning workout. I was already afraid I was going to stop progressing, that I have reached some sort of plateau. I have experienced such things before and it takes some time to break out of it.

Today I feel much better. I got up and finished my workout as usual and doing just fine. I know I have lost a week and I will compensate for it this week. Now I understand much more was affecting my condition last week. Major factor is the stress. I am starting my own business venture. I will start my own on-line supplement store and I have so much to do about it. Yesterday I reached one milestone by actually registering my business and getting all the papers required for the business start. I can relax for a moment, but not for long. This week I have to work on my web site and scripts for on-line sales, plus I have to make contact with all the distributors in my country. I am very excited about this and I have such a positive vibrations I just know I will succeed!

Now I am still running on empty here, no supplements are used, but I feel strong and energized. I will double the boxing intensity for this week and lower the calories and hope for the best :D

That’s it from me for this call, keep your intensity high! ;)

Made a little video.  I like to use this as a warm up however if I am running short on time, I use it as a circuit with three rounds and can get out of the gym in under 30 minutes.  Enjoy

Oh and a shout out to Pixi…Happy Birthday.  Enjoy yourself today and much happiness throughout the year.

Batter up!!

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Daretosoar

Thats right.  I am back at bat.  Ready to swing and smash one out of the park.  Feeling great again.  Workouts are back and intense.  My muscles are complaining a little since they took almost a week off.  They will shape up in no time.

This week I thought I would bring you a sample of some of my back exercises.  If there is an area that I slack on,this would be it.  I know its part of the major core and that I should work it as diligently as I do other body parts.  I seem to dislike back exercises the most with the exception of the smith machine pull-ups.  I must say that I liked them…a lot.  I am looking forward to adding them to my routine.

any way, here is the video…

Hey people,

Another week is over and I feel a little bit tired. I was working on my car for the last two days and it just so happened those last two days weather is sub zero LOL

Anyways I am progressing towards my personal goals and I am taking giant steps. Since last week I’ve lost 6.6 lbs and 1.8% body fat. I figure this is decent progress for an ex bodybuilder :D Anyway there is a catch to it, and I am rather proud of it. I did it all without any supplements at all. Somewhere mid last week I ran out of my amino and now I run free ;)

Last night I did my kick box workout. It lasted about 80min and it was considered a light workout. Tonight I go for more intensity ;) I hope I will survive :D

That’s it for today kid, keep your head up high and if you need motivation check my progress page ;)

Hoping to find a new love.

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

Daretosoar

I got in a wonderful workout last night.  Really tore up the lower body.  It felt great since I really haven’t had a good workout in several days.  I felt like I was back into the groove of things.

Tonight I am hoping to find a new love.  I am going to try a exercise that I found in this months Muscle and Fitness.   I was very excited when I seen it.  I have hopes it will move me towards being able to actually do a complete pull up. Its called a weighted smith machine pull-up.  Here is how it works:  You set the smith machine stops at waist height and set a bench a few feet away from the bar, parallel to it.  Take a wide overhand grip on the bar and squat down to hang under it.  Place your feet on the bench in front of you so your body forms an “L”.  At this point, a partner can add weights to you lap if you choose.  Obviously, I wont be doing that part yet.  From the hanging position, pull your chest to the bar, squeezing your lats hard, and the return to the starting position.   For those of you more experienced, you can switch hand positions to the close grip to hit the lower back. Or better yet alternate them.

Here is my progress for the last week:

Weight: up one pound (215.0)
Body fat%: the same

No I am not disappointed.  I expected it since I had been sick and everything has been off.  I don’t want my competitors getting to cocky though.  I am back and feeling great.  Hardcore workouts continue.  Restocked the groceries…clean eating is on.  Water intake has been increased.  Got myself a little valentines gift too….a new mp3.  I am so ready to bring it…again.

Here are this weeks pics:

Here I go again!

malibuilder

OK, I have some great news: I lost another two pounds :D I know you are all happy about it, because now you know how serious I am about this and there is all more reason for you to start working harder ;)

Anyways, I start with some serious supplementation this week. So far I was taking only my amino supplement and this week I start with fat burners and less calories in my diet. Practically I walk around with my backpack full of rice and vegetables :)

I get up 05:30 take my fat burners, do my morning workout for 20 min.

Breakfast at 06:00, usually it is eggs, tuna, or oat meal, milk an a piece of fruit. I also take my whey amino after breakfast.

08:30 is time for my next meal, rice with vegetables.

10:30 another meal, some proteins, usually lean steak or chicken breasts.

13:00 another rice meal and again my amino supplements

15:30 another high protein meal

18:00 some green salad to get my nitro up and running :D

My gym workout (or another 20 min cardio on my off days) starts at 19:15 an it takes about an hour. Immediately after workout I take whey amino again.

My next meal is somewhere from 20:30 - 21:00 depending on the time when my workout starts. I usually eat eggs, fish or chicken breasts or some other low fat meat.

I never go too low on carbohydrates, hate when something messes with my brain. I eat yolks, I eat peanut butter and honey through out the day, in small doses of course. I eat fruits (3-4 pieces/day), almond nuts, pumpkin seeds and I supplement with omega and multivitamins to keep myself healthy. Also I drink about a gallon of watter dally.

And now I wish to show you my latest workout video, I hope you will enjoy it ;)

This weekend was very uneventful.  I was sick and in bed the entire time.  Good news is that I feel great today.  I did get a few minutes to put together this weeks video-Ab inspiritation.  A few of the pics didnt turn out as clear as I would like but you can still get a good idea from them.

Living, breathing and advancing.

malibuilder

Heya,

I just woke up. Last night I went bowling with my friends, quite a fun. Relaxing too. This was my firs night out in the town, for…well last six months. Nothing but work, work and more work.

Anyways, some big time mobster was shot in my building last night. The police was all over the place and got us residents all locked down in our apartments. Yeah, talking about some stress. I mean who are the to stop me from going out after six months.

Nevertheless, this morning I woke up, took the measuring tape and I saw progress. I lost two pounds. and lowered my body fat percent down 23% and I feel great.

And another thing. I got me self a kick box instructor! Well, actually it’s an old friend who asked me if I would like to punch some bags with him, so I guess it will accelerate my progress a bit. This means I have a workout every day in the week, no rest for me ;)

Next week I plan to up the intensity for a notch so I suggest you people do the same. Don’t go thinking I will go easy on you ;)
