Its the weekend…
The weekend has arrived. I am very happy about it. I have lots do. yep..workouts to plan…meals to prepare… steps to success to follow. Oh and its Easter. You know what that means dont you? The Easter bunny is coming. Because candy is no longer in my plans, I am going to box it all up and send it to my competitors. They have been working so hard and I think some creamy chocolate, flavorful jelly beans, and you cant forget those sugary peeps would be a fabulous reward for all their efforts. Me? I will stick with the carrot sticks left for the rabbit and pound the six things I can be proud of during this competition. You know we only have six days left. Have a great weekend.
Six things to be proud of:
• I finished what I started. I may have stumbled during the last 12 weeks but I got up and continued on the journey. Unless you have a very firm grasp of this lifestyle, it is hard to stay on the right path. Sometimes our old habits and thinking get in the way. I am proud to say I made the adjustments and now I am walking across the finish line.
• I stayed positive throughout the contest. I think the positive mindset is the most important aspect of this contest. Believe that you can overcome any obstacle and that you can reach your goal if you put in the effort is critical to success.
• I have dropped almost two sizes in clothes. When I started this contest I was wearing a size 18 now I can buy some of my clothes in a size 14. I am waiting on my lower half to catch up with my up half but at least there is progress.
• I learned to plan my meals and workouts. Ok I had been planning my meals and workouts before but I guess you could say I got more confident in these skills. Daniel and Armond both helped me a lot in this area. I am very grateful to both of them.
• I have a great circle of friends. They stood by me, offering words of encouragements, kicks in the butt, and a few laughs through the entire journey. They wouldn’t let me stop if I wanted to. Team c.w. is bound and determined to be declared the best damn support group out there. You know I believe it.
• I never lost sight of who I was and why I was doing this. A contest is hard. Don’t let anyone fool you. Especially if you are still learning and embracing a new lifestyle. 12 weeks to maintain a strict diet, positive attitude, and hit every workout is a constant effort. When you are carb depleted it is easy to get angry, irritated, and wonder why in the hell did I sign up for this. It is also easy to take this negativity and self doubt out on others such as your significant other or even your competitors. I constantly reminded myself that this contest was a tool to help me succeed. Not just any tool-a fun and challenging tool that was helping me be a success story. Because I never lost sight of that, I can be proud.
