Why do I keep gaining weight?!
Although I’m trying to lean out, I can’t stop gaining weight. Its just a couple pounds, but its still discouraging. I feel like I’m eating right, I’m not cheating at all and I’m not eating too much. I’ve even cut out pancakes, my favorite food ever! I’ve been consistent at the gym too. Just doesn’t make sense. You can even see in my progress pics that I don’t look as lean anymore. I also have a broken toe, which isn’t any fun.
On the upside, I got my orthotics a couple days ago and my knees are feeling much better. The doctor said I should be able to squat again in a few weeks, which I’m totally excited for. I’ve missed hardcore leg workouts. Now I just have to get my shoulder fixed and I’ll be ready to go. I’m starting to think that it would be impossible for me to compete in September. But if I think its impossible, it will be. So I guess I just have to work on being positive, which isn’t really my thing. Well I’m off to the gym. Shoulders, traps, and abs today.

just keep at it you will start to lose some pounds you body may be taking in more protein or carbs than it is use to so that means your gonna gain muscle, but once your body hits its peak it will drop some weight. If you are not doing high intensity workouts try to do about 15-20 reps per exercise you wont be able to go as heavy but you will burn more calories. You should be able to compete in sept. just keep working it is going to get harder as you go… Good Luck

What does your workout schedule look like? It’s possible that you are overtraining and that may be why your progress has slowed a bit.

Wow, you sound JUST like me!! All the injuries, cutting out pancakes (i made them from straight oatmeal and protein powder though), working hard yet still NO results, and not looking as lean. I haven’t seen your pics yet so I can’t say for sure for you, but I know I feel the exact same way. Oh and I have a fractured toe, thought that was funny

hey Tootsie it sounds like you’re doing great by eating right plus staying positive about this. What is your cardio routine like?…Not sure of what its like but to maybe throw a boost into getting back on-track try some sprints outside unless you do that. Try them 2-3 times in a week usually every other day for about 25 mins total with a 45-60 sec rest between each sprint of about 40-50 yds. At the end of each Sprint after 15 min mark do 10 jumpingjacks & 10 pushups til your finished. Dont overdo it just go about 60-65% of your Speed, this usually burns calories for 12-15 hrs so its very productive & if you like them or want more advice on them in detail let me know. I’ve sliced 5.1% bodyfat in 5 weeks doing this so far. Hope that helps & Best Wishes!
