My Gym

April 9, 2007

Tomorrow I start to cut for summer but before then I’ll share some pics of my home gym very basic but i like it.05042007258.jpg09042007260.jpg05042007257.jpg05042007256.jpg

One more week

March 31, 2007

well I gave myself 12 weeks to improve, and Im into the last four, so this week Im working every muscle group twice and really getting my diet spot on this week. Compound movements are the order of the day, and then next week I’ll start to cut for summer and bring in some ab routines, as well as reducing carbs and fat. Most likely I’ll start taking glutamine as well to preserve muscle mass. Then at the end of the twelve weeks I’ll take some mesurements and photos and see what I’ve been able to do.

Making gains

March 10, 2007

Ok since my last post Ive started two new supplements Ive replaced USN whey with MRM whey and Im also trying MRM metabloic pump, basically an NO supplent. Thus far Im really enjoying the metabolic pump, Ive had some great w/os using it, especially getting a good pump in my chest which Iv really been concentrating on. My chest does seem to be growing and I was really pleased that Last time I was tested my bodywieght went up but bf dropped, I figure Im doing something right. Using No im getting a lot more from my w/os I find that if I really concentrate on the muscle that i can really feel and control it, thanks to this my training has been of late realy intense. And you know what Im loving it! Apart from chest Im putting a lot of emphasis on tris at the moment as compared to my bis my tris need improvement. It helps that chest day seems to compliment tris a vice versa eg. I’ll do pullovers then french press, or do dips for tris then lean forward to hit my pecs. the diet is going ok but im so busy at work and my job involves food so the ocasional mishap has happened. My diet is an area that I want to concentrate more on, so I’ll be looking to do this in a structured way very soon. I think Im going to increase cardio a little as well, to be honest I could do with a traing partner to help me get motivated for this. All in all Im feeling as if Im growing although patiance is needed as I cant seem to grow fast enough for my liking. In some ways I just expect to look bigger as Im over 200lbs, but with time and effort I,ll suceed! Im determined too, and Im a right stubborn fu**er!

Goin well

February 24, 2007

Thus far feel as if things are goin pretty good. I now seem to actually be adding some mass onto my upper body, which is making me feel really good about working out. My motivation at the moment is quite high, and as such Im shifting some decent iron about. Im now doing a 5 day split with weekends off, which really suits me; a quick workout which fits in with being busy at work and the weekend to just unwind. It also means I can really concentrate on the muscles Im working, really get in the "zone".

The split goes

  • monday-chest
  • tuesday-shoulders
  • wednesday-back
  • thursday-arms
  • friday-chest(again)

Im hitting the chest twice a week to maximise my gains there that where I want to improve the most. I dont do bb press because I w/o at home so no spotter etc, but the wieght of db on my db press just seems to get bigger every week. The diet and cv are also going ggod Im making a real conscious effort now to increase my calories.

Im considering starting to do some leg work as well. Ive never seen the need before I naturally have big strong legs, and a small upper body, so Ive kinda been playing upper body catchup. However as I can squat a lot Im interested to see if it will benefit me in terms of testosterone production and therefore overall growth. Ive also had some good advice recently for my tae kwon do training, so Il be incorporating that into my w/o soon as well. I posted  some progress pics today I hope they show the growth, Im starting to feel.

Overall at the mo Im happy with training.

Feel lighter but no growth

February 12, 2007

Its monday the 12th of Feb and the workouts have been going well, I did have to leave of for a bit though due to injury in my right wrist. My wrists always seem to be holding me back, when i lifted therev was a lot of pain in the centre of my wrist and the side of my hand, i think it may have been tendon damage. Ive got Monday morning blues today Ive had a quick mesure and I havnt grown, but on the plus side the scales say Im lighter, I have no body fat mesurement as of yet but i think its body fat Ive lost.

So im now going to train a little more intense, really concentrate on contraction and working the muscles, Im also going to up my protien intake from 6 scoops of whey on a training day and 3 on an off to 9 on a w/o day and 5 on an off. The diet is going ok just eating lots of tuna chx and steak with high quality carbs, Im actually finding breakfast cereals with a protien shake a good quick meal. Ive cut out added sugar from my diet so tea and coffee have been in decline but fruit smoothies are going as a good sweetb replacement.

Over the next week im going to try and do a lot more calisthenics, some exercises like dips with added wieght though. The cardio is also going to be uped as I have a tae kwon don competition coming up soon and i need to be fit for it, hopegfully it wont interfear with the lifting too much.
