Strength training, week 3 of 4, day 1

Ain’t been at the gym lately, crazy work hours (like 14 hours a day) so I figured I was better sleeping than pushing iron. Back to the gym, still doing strengh gains. Did some supersets today (squat/calf, bb skull/leg press) to optimize my time.

Stats

Squat : 185×6x4 (previous week, 175×6x4)
DB press : 70×6x4, with 5 on last set (same as previous week)
Dips : 20×6x4 (same as previous week)
BB skull crushers : 55×6x4 (previous week, 50×6x4)
Standing calf raise : 50×6x4
Leg press : 475×6x4 (previous week, 450×6x4)
Abs, nautilus weighted crunches : 50×10x4
Abs, crunches 30 straight, 20 left, 20 right, x4 (previous week : 30/15/15×4)

Cardio day

Rollerblade season pretty much just started here in Montreal. This is the second warm (ok, everything is relative) and sunny day after the last snow drop. Streets are still full of small stones (aka "de la garnotte" in french) but they already started cleaning it. And you can hear my quads screaming they aren’t used to it.

Morning training. Lower back is fine, half awake but full of energy.
Stats

SLDL : 205×6x4 (superset 1)
Lat raise: 25×6x4 (superset 1)
Lat pushdown: 140×6x4
Seated row, V bar : 140×6x4 (should raise that)
EZ curl : 60×6x4 (should raise that as well)
Shrugs : 180×6x4
Leg raise: 15×4

Cardio day and sore lower back

I know I have to start doing cardio more often to speed up my fat loss. Busy busy. And procrastinating probably. Anyway, HIIT session today. My lower back is very sore from deadlift yesterday, gotta put some ice and tigerbalm later tonight. Gotta get back to work, a my last paper for the semester is due monday.

Lower back pain today, I didn’t sleep well. I switched the lunges for front squat.

Tri pushdown : 80×6x4

Crunches : (20 straight+10 oblique)x4, 202 tempo

Crazy day. I didn’t eat enough, shame on me. Strength improvement are coming in fast. First strength cycle in a while (been on maintenance for months, no time), so I’m increasing weight with caution since I got no gym buddy to spot me. Pics coming soon.

Lot of new bozos today at the gym. Must be the summer promotion and the bikini craze. Funny. No music today, forgot the MP3 player - full of new White Zombie Astrocreep2000 super testosterone raising music - at the office. Grunters are as funny as they were last time I forgot it.
