Home At Last!!

November 7, 2007

Well, I finally made it home and I am soooo glad to be here. I reached my goal to be 130 lbs by the time I got home, so I am pretty excited about that. :) My family members were all very surprised to see how different I looked. They have not seen me this small since I was a sophomore in high school! hehe. I just uploaded my newest progress pics I took this morning. Training is still going strong and I am loving all the new clean foods I have been trying. I am not really looking to lose anymore weight now really. I will be completely happy staying around 125 lbs. If I lose anymore booty my husband will be pissed at me. lol. Just trying to maintain and continue to tone now. Thanks more all of the advice and motivation from everyone I have chatted with. Talk to yall more soon!

Almost time

October 23, 2007

Well, I will be headed home in a couple of weeks and I am psyched! I am so ready to get back to my family, dogs and my own house! I am taking a few days off the gym right now to let my body rest a bit. I have not been able to get much sleep lately either and it is affecting my workouts. But in 2 days I will be back in the gym busting my butt trying to lose what little extra fat I can before getting home and going SHOPPING! :) I am a little discouraged that the last 3 lbs that I wanted to lose before going home dont seem to want to come off. I am hoping that these few rest days will help me be able to shed them with a quickness, but if not, I am still happy with my changes and I will continue to train and eat clean when I get home. Well, that is the latest on me…

Always hungry…

October 5, 2007

Ever since I started lifting more, I have been eating more. Not only did I start incorporating pre and post workout meals, but I have just been feeling hungry a lot more often..like clockwork. I can’t count calories and macros very easily out here, but I think I am eating about 1800-1900 cal a day compared to my 1500 cal a day for weight loss starting out in May. I guess my newly formed muscles are just needing more fuel. I figure its not a problem if I am still losing weight. (I am dropping the lbs really slowly now, but they are still dropping so I am happy). I can’t wait to reach my goals and get to eat at maintenance! :) But who knows when I will actually be satisfied with my body to that point. Well, I am just rambling now…. Time to EAT!

Discouraged…

September 22, 2007

It just really sucks feeling so alone in my training… I mean, when you are excited about something (like a lifestyle change), you want to share it with someone and have someone to talk to about it. I feel like everytime I try to talk to someone about fitness/nutrition, they don’t care to listen to me and just tune me out. So rude.. My poor husband pretends to care, bless his heart, but he is just not as into it as I am….just like when he tries to talk to me about trucks.. :) I guess I just wish I had a friend who was as into all of this as I am now.. Hopefully I will make some gym-rat friends when I finally get home…but for now, I am just going to keep whining about not having any.. :) I guess I will just stick with my friends on the forums….

Update

September 9, 2007

Well, it has been a few weeks since I posted a blog so here I am. Not too much has changed. I am currently weighing 135 lbs (been at that weight for 3 wks). I want to get to 130 by November but I dont know if that will happen. I have recently discovered that I build muscle fairly easily, which is a nice discovery, so I may be losing fat but gaining muscle..although my measurements havent really changing in a few weeks. I recently increased my calories slightly because I was constantly hungry and just changed my training a bit by incorporating more lifting and a little less cardio. I am confident that if I don’t get the last 5 lbs off before I go home, that I will when I get home and am able to do my own cooking and grocery shopping. I just hope my training doesn’t suffer when I get home. Well, that is my update. I go home in 2 months!! :)

The pill

August 19, 2007

After doing some reading on the body forum and researching the net. I have decided to get off the birth control pill. I have been on it for nearly 6years now and I think its time for my body to have a break from all of those hormones. I also would like to see how my body changes hormonally without the pill. I am nervous but excited. I just better not get pregnant! Guess I better stock up on condoms!

Weigh-In Day

August 14, 2007

I have changed my weigh-in schedule to once every 2 weeks so that I am not so obsessed about the scale. Today was my week 15 weigh-in and I am down to 135. :) Just 5 lbs away from my original goal. I may have to reevaluate my goals when I get home in November though since I should be able to trim down even more with clean eating. I can not wait to be able to go grocery shopping again. :) It’s the little things in live that you take for granted. I was surprised to see that I had dropped 3 lbs though, because I have been doing more extensive strength training and I feel like I have put on some muscle. But, I am not complaining! Well, I will give another update with pics in 2 more weeks…

Circuit Training

August 10, 2007

Tina’s Circuit Training So, I made this new workout plan for the muscle strength side of my training and it is working great so far! I got sick of getting to the gym and not already knowing what I was going to do that day so I made this plan for each of my target areas. So far I have done this plan for a week and after each workout, I am exhausted and sore for days. I know that I can’t judge my workouts on being sore, but it has been so long since I have done a workout where I was sore, so I am glad to be able to tell that this is working. The trick is to try to do each exercise back to back so that it incorporates cardio as well as strength. I do 5 sets of the 4 exercises for each circuit, but I normally only do one circuit a day (which only takes about 20 min tops) plus I do about 45-60 min of cardio (with no running because of my knees). I do 2 circuits on days I don’t do cardio. I especially love the upper body workouts because they target the specific areas. I love to work my triceps because that is where I want to improve the most.

I did one of the Glute workouts yesterday and my hiney feels great! I love that tight feeling when you know you had a good workout. I encourage everyone to try circuits. They are awesome! And feel free to check out my training plan. Talk to ya’ll soon!

3 Month Mark

July 31, 2007

Well, I reached my 3 month mark today of being on my diet and exercise plan. I had hit a plateau that I finally seem to be slowly breaking through. I stopped weighing myself so often and now am only weighing in every 2 weeks so that I do not stress out about it as much. I weighed in at 138 this morning which means I have only lost 2 lbs this month, but it is still progress in the right direction, so I am happy.

My diet for yesterday

July 27, 2007

Well, I was doing really well yesterday on my diet but then I got hungry before bed :) . I have recently changed up my eating schedule to spread out my meals just enough that I can keep from being too hungry, but still stay within my ideal caloric intake for the day (between 1300-1400 calories). The new plan seems to be working pretty well, because I haven’t been as hungry as before. I eat a large breakfast (350-400 calories) at 8:30, lunch (300 cal) at 1200, snack (200 cal) at 3:00 PM, dinner (300 cal) at 6:00 PM, and another snack (150-200 cal) at 8:00 PM. I love being able to eat 5 times a day.

Unfortunately, I just stopped drinking my whey protein shake in the morning after the gym because I have discovered that I may be lactose intolerant. :( This is a big bummer for me because I love cerial (especially Kashi cerial), but I also hate feeling like crap all day, so I guess I will just have to start drinking soy milk and order a different kind of whey (any suggestions would be appreciated).

Well, anyway, back to my original point, I had a bad case of the late night munchies last night which pushed me over 1600 cal for yesterday. I guess I will just have to get to bed earlier tonight to avoid a reoccurence…
