7miles. F*cking dogs!
7 miles 65mins (when did I get so fast damn!lol) Hung over as ****, knee is swollen from dancing last night, feet kill, and I am gonna change my name to puppy chow.
You know what, I’m not affraid of dogs, I love dogs, I’m a huge dog person. BUT WTF!!!!
THREE dogs tried to attack me today THREE!!!! WTF!!!! What is wrong with people here!?
I live 40mins outside Boston, we are three weeks away from the Boston Marathon, I know a good 20 people personally running it and a half dozen that train on this same road I run on. So why the **** are all thes dogs loose???!!!!
The first encounter today was 2 dogs at one house, a rottweiler and a doberman pinscher. The rottweiler was chained up but started running for me and i’m thinking i"it’s ok it’s ok it’s on a leash" and BROKE his f*cking chain to chase me down and I’m screaming " NO! NO! BAD DOG! GO LAY DOWN, HELP YOUR DOG BROKE ITS LEASH! NO! GO AWAY!" and the owner comes running out and the doberman pinscher pushed through the door and ran out after me to. So I’ve got these two dogs hair all standing up growling and barking infront of me the rottweiler knocks me down and i’m like holding it by the throat and i’m screaming "NO BAD DOG! GO LAY DOWN!" and finally the guy comes up and grab the rottweiler and apologizes and makes sure i’m ok.

If he hadn’t come out these 2 dogs were not gonna just back down like the shepard. I was legitimately f*cking scared.
The 3rd dog was an older fat black lab, he was slow and didn’t get to far before the owner realized what was happening and called him back.
IDK what my time will be like for the actually race because i’m not gonna be running scared shitless you know? Every time I hear a dog bark now it’s like running over one of those speed up things in mario kart

I’m so frustrated right now. IDK if I can keep doing this, I don’t wanna get hurt. I am seriously scared to go running, I mean what am I supposed to do??? Anyone else have this much of a problem so far this season? I think I have actually been lucky to have not gotten seriously hurt yet! Grrrrr!

Haha wow what a story! I definitely understand what you are talking about . One time last summer I was running at night and saw something a short distance away that started running toward me. When it got closer it started barking and I was like "Oh hellllll nooooo. This can’t be happening!" I booked it down a side street without looking back for a good 50 yards. As I was running I was thinking to myself "I’m not going to out run a dog, might as well turn and fight it before I’m too out of breath from sprinting" When I turned around I saw that it had stopped about 15 yards away from me. I stopped and stared it down. I walked backwards slowly keeping my eyes on the dog. Not too long after that it decided to turn away and go back to where it came from. I finished my run and called it a night. What an adrenaline rush that was! I was a bit nervous for a couple of nights about that one spot so i took alternate routes. after a week though I decided to try that route again. I haven’t had any problems since then.
