Whew! I’m finally being let off my 2nd job! I will finally be able to focus more on sleeping more and that, in turn, will help me not reach out to comfort meals, easy-fix, or fast food. It will also help me devote more time to cardio, intense interval training, and life outdoors once it warms up. Since I posted my last blog, I have fell off a little, but have done some body weight exercises to remain more or less ‘active’. Had some weight gain around the holidays, but some of that has disappeared. Some. Although I’m only 25, but according to most research, that is the age at which one’s body can start slowing down and aging, especially metabolism. I must work harder to keep my metabolism higher.
So, I’ve taken some more pix, but they are not any better than the September pix. I might upload some of them, but I’m not to happy with them. You guys will see ‘em and I don’t like it, but that’ll motivate me to work harder and post great pix in a few months. So, I am much more motivated now and have been reading about total body workouts and I seem to enjoy them more than the intense muscle building workouts where you do all kinds of sets, resting, and pausing. I like to just keep moving from one thing to another, otherwise known as supersets, as some of you may know. I would do this three times a week and use two days to focus on some muscle groups and train those a little harder. It is possible to train daily, as long as you don’t train too hard. Two sets or even only one set and it seems to work for me. That way, I have worked out daily and not just skip a day if I didn’t get a chance to get cardio in. Of course, I have a day or two of rest.
Well, that’s it for now. I’ll be back in a couple weeks. I’m going to Florida for a much needed break and vacation! Ciao.

Ugh! I’m ready for some rest and I need to get caught up on that this week. I did a tabata style workout for about 4 minutes. That probably helped to burn the pizza I ate at 3 am. An entire UNO’s Chicago style deep dish pizza. Who else does that?! It’s the one I picked up at Wal-Mart, about 9 inches across and all 1,920 calories worth.
Suprisingly, though, it didn’t stick with me. The tabata workout must’ve made my metabolism high enough to burn that off quickly. I’m gonna start doing that more often and try to integrate 4 or 5 workouts into a week. For those who don’t know what it is, google it. There is lots of information about it on the net. Very, very effective at burning fat, so it claims. We’ll see about that.
For those who read this blog, please comment and let me know what was the worst pig out you’ve ever done?
Take care.

I have had long days in the last few days. As I’ve mentioned, I have a second job, but I can squeeze in some free time to update my BodySpace and do a workout or two. In the last two days, I’ve had to cover for someone who’s brother died last week in a car accident. So, I’m working two 14 hour days on my main job in addition to my second job. I haven’t worked out or been able to get pictures up on here. I’m slightly annoyed, but I like the extra money, as it is needed in this poor economy.
When I don’t get a workout in, I slightly panic. That’s not normal, isn’t it? That would probably mean that I have a problem with self-esteem or self-image. I am absolutely against being fat and unhealthy. I have more than enough times annoyed people by telling them what I should eat and not eat, as well as telling them what not to eat and what to eat. I live in the Midwest, mind you, where a majority of people are either overweight or obese. I’m just tired of seeing that and I always think that they are contributing to the high cost of health insurance and health care.
Oh, well, enough of that. I’m looking forward to getting some workouts in this week and to eat several servings of wonderful spinach salad! Gotta keep myself motivated!
Thanks to whoever added me as a friend or as a fan. I will add the fans…
have a good day and keep motivated, working towards your goals. I need help with my motivation as well so any tips, advice, encouragement, or anything else is greatly appreciated and welcomed.
Take care.

I read in either the Men’s Health or Men’s Fitness that if one "cannot do at least ten chin-ups, he does not have any business doing arm curls", and it goes on to say that one should master at least 10 chin-ups and do several sets of them before rounding off the arms with other curls. I agree with this. This is what I’m working on right now. I want to be able to easily do all body weight exercises before defining my body with free weights and machines.
So, what I wanted to say was that I finally am able to do 9 chin-ups! Not much at all, but that is WAY better than the four I began with!! That was about a month ago, so I know I’ve improved. I know I’m not making a quick progress, but with the little time I have, I believe that this is something. My arms are already feeling bigger and harder.
Still working…making progress…still trying to make my diet stricter. All natural.
Check back here, ya’ll.
Have a great day and God bless.

I have been working out off and on since 2004, keeping active and trying to watch what I eat. I have never worked hard enough, long enough, or had enough motivation to stay on track and to reap the rewards of a muscular and lean physique.
This time, though, I have been more motivated to start working my body as a whole. I am beginning by doing body weight workouts, some of which will include free weights for an extra punch. Body squats, lunges, chin-ups, pull-ups, push-ups in various positions, shoulders, rows, and a slew of abdominal workouts.
I have been doing this for about a month now and I feel stronger and better. Currently, I am working two jobs, totaling 60-70 hours or more a week (2nd job is seasonal and I offered to help) which makes my schedule tight. So there is no time to go to a gym and all workouts are done at home in the living room under the ceiling fan. Every other day I do this and then two days as well as the weekends, I take a nap to catch some zzz’s. Rest is essential as most of you know. I don’t have much time to put in for cardio, so it is to a minumum. I just watch what I eat and try to keep the carbs down, most fats healthy, and lean proteins up.
I am surprised at myself and am proud of myself at the same time. Last year, I worked the same two jobs, but slept most of the time during my time off, ate fast food, easy foods, and my mother offered to fix some meals for me. Although I gained only 12-15 lbs., this made a big difference. I was around 155-160 for most of the summer of 2007. After the winter passed, I was 170, once reaching a max of 175 for a short period of time. And this was NOT muscle, lol. I was flabby! I was desperate to get back down to 155, but leaner and with more muscle mass.
So, since opening my BodySpace yesterday, I feel more motivated and when I am free this coming weekend, I will be taking measurements and recording them on here. I cannot believe how easy it is going to be this time. Bodybuilding.com has it all there for you! I will also post pics, but only if I can find them. I have them hidden away in some random folder, so some searching is needed.
I will try to keep the blog going as much as I can for those who want to share with me their life and I with them.
Have a good day!
