I would strongly sugest you consider the NPC Northern. It;s sponsored by Beverly International and is held in Covington, KY, just across the bridge from Cincy. Its a very well run and well judged show and although it is a national qualifyier, it's also a great first competition. Beverly International offers some seminars for cometitors prior to the show regarding diet, supplements and posing. If you're interested, you can check our www.bodybuildingworld.com, or I can get information for you. I've been to the show many times and really thing the quality of the competitors is great.
