losing fat.

i know it would be much easier for me to just get in there and start lifting weights to build the muscle to lose the fat. but i am not ready for that. i am trying to really buckle down on my diet and do the occasional cardio for now. and i am starting to drop fat like crazy! once i get to 102-105 i’ll start lifting weights. last time i lifted weights when i felt like i had a few pounds of fat to lose (which is alot when youre 5′) i felt huge and bloated with the muscle under the fat. my goal is to be small, tight, and toned. no bulky. so i’ll do it backwards.. lose fat then build.. i know.. this is bodyspace with lots of body builder type people. but my goal is small and tight… not size or anything like that.

Gaining a Pound a Week. be jealous! ha

i havent been on here in forever! 6 months to be exact. I’m currently 23 weeks pregnant. i’m gaining about a pound a week now steadily (Youre jealous i know!!), which is right on track for my healthy weight gain for myself and the baby. I havent been able to work out with this pregnancy due to a complication in early pregnancy that caused me to be on bedrest till i was 4/5 months along. but now that i’m getting more energy i really want to get back in the gym and start being more active again. i’m not talking about building muscle.. just easy going workouts like on the eliptical and using weight machines to work my muscles. if i gain any muscle back that would be nice too ;-) but i just want to be healthy right now and gain more energy which will make for an easier delivery!

SO EXCITED

I start work soon at a corporate gym as the fitness trainer/manager and i’ll be working with a lot with white collar folks. which is nice since they tend to be dedicated. and i’m working the early shift which is a plus. i’ll have half a day left after work!

i only had 25 mins to run not including warm up cool down. so i just charged it an ran the best i could for how late in the day it was. i ran 2.5 miles in 22 mins. and a mile warm up and cool down. my blisters were killin’ me and my shin was starting to hurt but i finished it. hopefully i dont have to pay for the shin later…now its up to 16 miles this week which started on sat.

running is making my butt too big to fit into any of my clothes and i can’t find any shorts to fit into! oh and i ran 5 miles today. so its up to 12 miles in 2 days. i’ll keep it counting.

i just realized…

that in the last 10 weeks i’ve gained an average of .75 pounds muscle mass a week…that adds up to about 7.5 pounds of muscle..which is pretty good considering i weighed 107 when i started.. not sure yet what my total is for fat loss just yet. i’m getting it tested next week. alot of it is in my back and legs. i can’t fit into my shorts because my thighs are too big and my tanktops and t-shirts/bras dont fit me anymore because my back has gotten bigger and started to "V" so i’m pretty happy with my results and it gives me more fuel to keep going!

some big things

well i’m starting a course at UNLV for Personal training to get my National Certificate. I’m super excited about that! and i’ve decided to train for the Zappos Marathon at the end of the year. and a half marathon at camp pendleton in sept. i start training in June. and im super excited about that! when i start my pre-training and training i’ll keep in touch and update on how the training and long runs go.

Today i ran up the bleachers in intervals. and it was so much fun! a nice change from the treadmill or anything in the gym. i was 15 seconds short of beating a guys record that goes to my gym. if it wasn’t 45 degrees and my lungs weren’t burning from the cold i think i could have beat it. when its warmer in a few days i’ll kick ass. lol
