Monday Morning Run

Monday, March 31st, 2008

45 minutes

10m  @ 6.5
15m @ 6.7
15m @ 7.0
740 Calories

5.07 Miles

Felt good; the 1st five minutes seemed like forever. I just kept telling myself that I could do this. My body of course pulled through (I am reminded of an old Dave Draper statement "Where the mind goes the body follows") Next goal will be 50 minutes. As long as I can get through that inital 20 minutes I feel like I could go on forever. That 1st 20 minute section, just never seems to move, every time I look down at the treadmill it seems like seconds have gone by. The 10 minutes between 30 & 40 went by very very quickly. I am getting good at this.

BTW, 175.4 pounds today.

March 1st - 184.25

March 31st - 175.4

~8.9 pounds in one month not too bad

The Stakes just got Higher

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

So my boss has decided his client is not going to lose this contest! So yesterday morning he tells me he is training Pam "free-of-charge" an extra two sessions a week, bumping her up to 5 training sessions a week. Pam is a hard worker, and the only thing I can hope for is a chance of her overtraining. Marc is a great trainer, so I know he will have some counter to this.

After hearing this news I was very motivated to work out. Not only because the stakes just got higher, but I felt as if a bar had been set. Everyone (read: EVERYONE) thinks I have this contest in the bag already,  so I have to live up to and exceed that.

I did a HIIT Workout with a 10 minute warm-up and 10 reps. The Level was anywhere between 13 & 15. 30 seconds on & 30 seconds off. Followed with 5 sets of Jumping Rope, 4 sets of Mountain Man on the Bosu, 3 sets of Stairs (5 flights, 4 flights, 5 flights).

Later on, I had a great chest workout. No cheat meals either!
