Its been a while since I last posted to my bodyblog, but I figured I would do a small update here for those that are interested. The last time I posted I thought I was going to get a job with Farmer’s Insurance, well that didn’t work out. I was really down after that, but I pressed on with my diet and exercise routine and kept looking for a better job. Finally about 2 months ago I was hired on to work for AT&T as a cable splicer. Its a great job and I really like it, but while doing a lot of soul searching, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to be a police officer. For the last couple of months I have been going through the whole application and testing process and hopefully I will be hired some time next year.

I had a job interview on Monday. Simply put it was one of the best interviews I have ever had. It was to work for Farmer’s Insurance. I took several tests including a typing test, math test, and sentence structure test. All in all it took me over 3 hours. After that I had my interview. I put my game face on. I shaved off the beard which I love, I got a haircut, and I wore my glasses, something I almost never do unless I am trying to look smarter. To top it off I wore my new suit.
It worked because at the end of the first interview I was invited back for a second interview. I was given the results of my tests and I far exceeded the minimum passing scores on them all. This job pays more than both of my current jobs combined, so if I am hired next Tuesday, when I go back for the second interview, I can give notice to both of my current jobs that I am leaving.

GNC apparently doesn’t sell any multivitamins except their own brand. Well out of desperation, since I was out of multivitamins, I bought the GNC Mega Men sport multivitamins. I guess this will be some product testing. I am sure it is a fine multi, I just wanted to try one from a different company, like AST. Oh well, maybe in 45 days when this runs out. I also bought some ON whey isolate. I will try it out tommorrow as part of my pre and post workout protein shakes.

Well I looked in my multivitamin bottle today and realized that I only have 1 pill left. That means that I have to go out and buy a new multivitamin. My current multi is a generic one that I picked up from wal-mart, but I want a little bit better one fom now on. I was looking at multi’s from AST, ON, and even at the Animal Pak (which I have decided against because there are too many pills). Anyway its too late for me to order it online before I run out, so I will probably have to go to GNC and pay their high prices. At least this was a good paying week at my job.
I am also going to at least look at whey isolate while I am there. I will probably end up ordering that online at BB.com, but I can check out the selection at GNC anyway.

I posted new pics on my bodyspace from yesterday and a couple of old pictures of me at my mom’s house right before my college graduation on Feb. 25, 2005. Back then I weighed somewhere between 450-475 pounds, so those are the closest things I have to before pics. Only problem is they are small since they were taken with a webcam. Still you can easily see how large I was.

I have been absolutely terrible at updating my blog recently. I have two journals on the forums and I post frequently and I forget to update it. All is going very well. I am down to my lowest weight since I was 14 years old, which is 328.2 pounds. All of my lifts have improved under the Rippetoes program, and my measurements are all much smaller than even a couple of months ago. I need some new clothes.
People who I haven’t seen in a while are most amazed, after all I was so large for so much of my life that no one ever thought I would ever change. I am glad that it surprises people to know I am not a one dimensional person.
Work is still going poorly. I am still working two jobs and rarely have a full day off, in fact I haven’t had a day off in the last 3 weeks. The money is good and I have been able to buy a lot of things that I never thought I would be able to afford, but without some free time I am beginning to burn out, especially with the hectic exercise and sleep schedule.
Anyway I hope this little update helps others understand what has been going on.

I haven’t done a body blog entry in a while. Sorry, I have been posting like crazy in my journals and kind of put it off. My workouts have been going well and my weight loss is on track. Starting today I am eating 3000 calories a day and trying to get 250-300g of protein a day. I am still working two jobs and even though I am busy, I make time to work out and exercise.
I weighed in at 333.7 pounds today and that means I am very near my first goal of 300 pounds. By the end of the summer I should be there. I have been thinking about planning a vacation for this Fall kind of as a celebration. Perhaps Las Vegas, or Florida.

I have officially been working on better health for the last 152 days. I did a sort of progress report on myself today since it is the first of June and I started on January first. I will do a short overview here.
I went from doing 15-20 minutes of cardio 4-5 days a week in January to doing at least 30 minutes cardio 7 days a week today.
I went from a lackluster lifting routine using primarily dumbells and bodyweight exercises in January to doing full body workouts 3x a week with progressively heavier weights and proven strength increases now.
I went from eating a lot of prepackaged foods and frozen dinners, to eating very healthy foods, including a serving of fruits or vegetables with every meal. Also I cook almost every meal for myself.
I went from eating 3 meals totaling approximately 1500-2000 calories a day in January, to eating approx. 2700 calories a day now in 5-6 meals.
In January I took no supplements, and today I take whey protein, creatine, fish oil, a multivitamin and L-arginine. </p
In January I drink water, diet soda, and flavored beverages with caffeine in January, but I only drink water now.
The biggest difference between now and January is my shift in focus from losing weight, to losing fat and being healthier.

Between working two jobs and focusing on my diet and exercise, my biggest challenge has been getting adequate rest. I usually can swing six and a half hours on workout days, but even with that I was dragging last night while at work. I know it can effect your performance when lifting, but today my workout was one of my best ever. At least I am off from my new job for the next two days, or I would be pretty bad off.
No matter what happens though I won’t give up. I wasted 27 years of my life being lazy, and now I will work myself silly if necessary to reach my goals.
