Training the Weather and those Damn Dursleys!

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

Training is going great! Despite having to extend my workouts as it has been sub zero temps, but despite getting buried under tons of snow I haven’t missed a day of training and I am very proud of that.

And I am hooked I get it kids! Harry Potter is a good read I’m enjoying it, glad I made the decision to read the books it encourages and supports my son and I’m really enjoying it!

Want to know who the Dursleys are? Read the book.

Wizards and Muggles

Monday, February 11th, 2008

My oldest son is a fan of the Harry Potter series both the written and cinematic form, which is more my genre of escapist entertainment as I am a avid movie buff. So much like we do with the various movies we watch and discuss I wanted to encourage his reading so I decided to make my way through the Harry Potter books so we could have discussions about the stories.

I began on the first book in the series today at the gym while I did the first half of my cardio, and I must say it is a very good read, growing up I was always into Marvel heroes and movies especialy Science Fiction, Horror, Action etc. so this journey into the world of Harry Potter is actually very enjoyable and I am looking forward to making my way through all of the books.

As for training it was a slightly beter than average day to day I increased my volume and with it came a massive pump which seemed to last forever. A bit busier than I like it at the gym, but I was able to move smoothly through my training none the less. And I am very much looking forward to getting back in there tomorrow! And reading the next chapter in my new reading foray.

Good Solid Day!

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

Today I was able to get in the gym at my usual time of 12:30pm and there were only two other people there, excellant nothing better than an empty gym. I moved through my training unimpeded.

All went well and my head is in a good place, today was supposed to be my leg day but I moved it to tomorrow and did Back,Biceps, Forearms, Abs, Cardio just felt like it (The whole instincual thing kicked in).

Maybe tonight I can watch my Rocky Balboa DVD I bought it about a week ago and still haven’t found time to watch it. Say what you will the Rocky Movies are motivating!

Aggravation!

Monday, February 4th, 2008

Well I did not get into the gym until 8pm tonight and it was crowded, not that I didn’t expect that. All across the nation Mon is historically busy all the slackers that didn’t do much throughout the previous week and all the people who live for the weekend pile into the gym on Mondays in a misguided attempt to undue their weekend debauchery.

But tonight ontop of the weekend warriors coming out of the hole the after school bench press crew was there taking up space hogging the benches and just generally getting in my way in the midst of wasting their own time.

OK I’m venting/ranting a little or a lot however you wish to view it but it was quite aggravating to say the least. But I got through it. This is a new gym and I am slowly learning the busy times I usually train in the afternoon and it’s very sparce people wise.

So far I have learned Mon evening is a mess and Tue before 8:30p is almost a mess Mornings and afternoons seem to be ok. Luckily the gym is 24 hrs so I’ll weed it out. the up side is its only about 3-5 Mins from the house.

The good news I just saw Paula Abduls Performance from the Super Bowl on You Tube (Yeah thats right I didn’t watch the game) like her or not she’s back! Or maybe it was just a lot of fond memories for me flooding back but none the less they were good memories and I enjoyed it.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings just finished a awesome protien drink and now time for the recliner and some TV.
