I dont know what happened to my energy levels today - i went to the weightroom at my usual time and i felt like i had just woken up from sleep [even though it was 2pm] and i just could not get the energy level to go up. today was arms day, which didnt help either, cause its my weakest, but I really tried to push through and got 6 lifts [3 biceps, 3 triceps] done with decent amount of weight and reps. but even in the last drop set of biceps, I just could not focus. I am hoping this is only a temporary glitch. I have been doing pretty well with my workouts since i started back up about 3 weeks ago…

So I have kept to my 5×5 workouts now for a couple of weeks. Last night’s went well, I did the HIIT for cardio and then worked on my legs, buttocks and abs. I was positive throughout the wkout, and focused on what I needed to get done. However, as I was driving home, my mind wandered and I felt like I was not going to get to the point where I want to be. I felt like i started back up on my wkouts too late and I was not going to get to my goals… I know that this is the point many people come to and there are only two options — (1) Give Up or (2) Keep focused. I am determined to follow the 2nd option, and keep working out… and eat right… and drink my gallon of water a day. I know I need to give my bosy time to revamp itself and start to work with me… but it was tough last night mentally.
Any words of advice from anyone who reads this and has been where I am would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Just when I thought that i was getting my workout routine on track, my boss came down on me and told me i needed to work longer hours… like the 11 hr days I was putting in for the last 3 months is not enough… I am really bummed. I get in around 730 am and dont get out before 8 anyway - I was using my lunch hour [sometimes a little more] to get my wkouts done… now I dont know how to balance the fatigue, the sleep I need and the longer hours at work together with the gym… I am pretty bummed. damn it!

So, after going through a lot of stuff in late fall and winter, and some early this year, I said to myself, i just turned 31, i know I want a better outlook in life, both physically and emotionally, so why not get back on track and work on it? So, I did, it has been over a week now, and inspite of the fact that I am putting in an average of about 11hrs a day at work, I have been good with going to the gym, eating right, saying no to the sweet stuff - that have always been my weakness and cutting out soda for water…
I started on the 5×5 workout program, and i am sticking to it for the next 6-8 weeks and then I am going to try a cutting program for 6-8 weeks of high cardio and medium weights with high reps. Thats the plan.
Any help, guidance or suggestions from anyone on this site reading this blog would be very helpful. I plan on putting up a pic soon to track my body as it changes…

So I was doing pretty well through most of the spring and early summer… then came a harsh break-up, moving out, and it all went to hell. Now suddenly 3 months have passed, I have been to the gym probably 4 times, my eating habits have fallen off the wagon… I have seen this happen to others, but I didnt think it would be me some day. I have gotten where I once was, not happy with my body. Every night I tell myself I will get to the gym in the morning, and then morning comes and I sleep through…
I need some inspiration, but I am not sure how to change this pattern right now…

So I have now been working on a pretty regular basis for about 2 months, and well, I dont know if my body is really changing much. I have noticed that I have lost about 3-4 pounds, though the muscles show a little bit more, so I guess my fat % is going down, but I have not seen any dramatic changes inspite of eating right, drinking tons od water everyday and lifting at least 3-4 times a week — and I can feel a slight tinge of disappointment building in me. I am hoping that it wont get the better of me and make me stop lifting, cause I know consistency and changing routines is the key… but its proving hard to remain motivated when I am not seeing the results… may be I am too impatient?

So, I had a good wkout this morning on the chest… and I ran 2 miles after… but still I feel a bit low… cause i dont think I am seeing any difference inspite of (1) working out regularly (2) doing cardio (3) watchin everything I eat (4) drinking tons of water per day…. its a bit disheartening… I am changing my wkout around… to try to keep the body guessing… doing different set-types and mixing it up… but I dont see any difference… I guess I am going to keep my head down and keep going and putting in the effort… but it was a good wkout but then a not-so-good after the workout feeling….

So, I have now been going to the gym 4-5 days a week, for 3 weeks. I can feel a slight different - mainly muscle memory I guess… but I am doing better attitude wise and also, wanting to go and workout hard… I know its a long road ahead… and results wont really start showing before 6-8 weeks, so I am ready to keep working hard and smart and eat right so that I can put up some progress pictures in a few weeks!

I felt awesome in the gym this morning and its usually my weak day [legs], but I was able to concentrate to getting the jb done… reached 405lbs [6 reps] on my leg press and 140 lbs [8 reps] on my 4th set for the leg extension - so I was proud of that. Since I feel I have been doing the squat wrong, in form, I decided to correct that by using the squat smith machine for a few lifts, and also lowering the weight to get my form right and not hurt my back… so I went down to about 135 and did 3 sets of 10 and yup, it hurt in all the right places Plus I also ran a couple of miles, which is a great feat for me since I NEED to do cardio but I HATE doing it! All in all, I felt good… I am going back in about 4 hours during lunch to get my ab wkout in….
