I placed 2nd in the open B figure class. For those of you who don’t have a clue….just means I competed in a height class. The B class is comprised of girls of a certain "height", any age. I continue to compete in open instead of masters (age divided classes). Knowing I more than likely will be standing next to some hot, 20 something bombshell makes me work that much harder. Talk about putting some fire under your feet!

I am thrilled with my show prep and completion. My goal was to lean out and keep the booty, I did it! Unless you have built muscle there, its very hard to lean out and keep a rounded tush!

Thank all of you for your never ending support, I love you guys!

I decided years ago that show prep is what I love , walking on stage is just icing on the cake. Icing! omg! Its happening! lol

Its been 5 weeks since I commited myself to my first show of the 2008 season. With the lack of show planning early in the year, I found myself with withdrawal symtoms. I love setting goals and reaching them. I love competing!!!!!

I love to “work” on a specific body part for an upcoming show. This time, it was my glutes. You know gravity can take over! I am happy with the results. I actually have more of a butt than I did when I was 20!

My diet is SUPER clean and as regimented as regimented can get.

I have eliminated my one cheat meal on the weekends.

Start my meals with a 5am alarm so that I get a total of 7 meals a day.

No fruit or dairy.

One beef day a week.

Carb rotating on a 4 day cycle.

These last 3 weeks are the hardest! Krispy Kremes start calling my name …..I swear!

Start with the end in mind. This is an interesting concept. Try it!

Progress is progress. No matter what the progress…its progress. It may not be what “you” expect, but is it ever?

Sometimes you have to take one step back to move forward 2! Its how we learn.

Its easier to take off 5lbs…..easier than 20, 30, 40! Remember that.

Hang that dress thats a size too small where you can see it daily. Don’t say “if I can get into that dress” instead see yourself already in it! Everyday see yourself in it and feeling great! Its just a matter of time. A positive attitude will carry you further than you think!

Think of your health goals as a conscious decision you are CHOSING. If you mentally make a note, “I choose to eat this way and workout”…..it NEVER feels like a chore.

You can never have too much motivation!

It is sliced bread made from sprouted grains. This makes it a “living bread” which gives it a nutritionally packed profile. It is cooked at a lower temperature so that the enzymes in the sprouts can do their work.

The best news, its a flourless bread! They sprout the grains & grind them into dough. It also has a better, tighter crumb texture so it has a white bread “feel” to it. Makes great toast!

It’s usually found in the freezer case in the natural / organic section of your grocery store.

Fun tidbit……its a favorite of Culter. I don’t know this to be a factoid, just saw it on a forum.

There are no secrets, tricks or pills, just clean eating. I am 8 weeks out from my first show of the year. I went really low on my carbs today because I ate a few oreos yesterday….a few too many!

200pm

5oz boneless/skinless seasoned chiicken breast 1 med plain sweet potato, including the skin.

6pm

same as 200pm meal

planning on a 2 scoop shake again around 9pm

Now thats what I call "clean eating" 8 more weeks to go!

So now you know, I love to write. I do a monthly newsletter for the members of my fitness studio. Each time I include an innspiratial Vitamin G column.

I love to turn a negative into a positive and live everyday trying to do so! I hope this will make many of you sit back and take in the BIG picture in a new way:) A positive INSPIRING attitude is the key to your success in EVERYTHING you choose in life. Enjoy and get INSPIRED!

A Little Vitamin G

My days often start, very early in the morning, with quiet reading. I always seem to read something that helps me make sense out of life or gives me a new way to look at it. I think what I recently read may be helpful to my fitness family as well.

Life is full of unexpected bumps and bruises.. twists and turns… happiness and heartaches. So it goes with a fitness plan. Some days we do great, other days we "fall off the wagon."

The only way to be successful, in the long run, is to just take one day at a time. It always seems to be okay. I know that we are all learning as we go along. Each episode is a shaping factor of not only our lives, but also, many others. Great lessons start with what happens in our life, and then, how we react.

Each small moment in our lives, is needed to shape the rest to come. The doughnut you ate last week, and the sit-ups you did the day before, both impact where you stand today.

So, even on the rough days, try to find the positive. Years from now, it will all be in retrospect. “If that had not happened……then we would not be where we are today.”

Nobody likes the fact that it takes 30 seconds to put on 200 calories, and then, 30 minutes to burn them off ! So, sometimes when things don’t seem fair, choose to look at a bigger picture.

I do.

I love to take runs on the beach or dig in my garden. Being outside puts things into perspective. Next time you’re on a jog or walk, take a moment to look up at that very big sky. Let it be a reminder that we are just a very small part of the BIG picture.

The smaller things in life can be so exhilarating! The funny thing is, these things are always there for everyone. Some people just walk around with their eyes closed. You deserve better.. and you can have better. We at Go Fitness thank you for letting us help you on the journey!

Just getting home from Team Universe! ….I bombed! LOL……Its all HINDSIGHT now….but NEVER EVER start a new diet 2 weeks before a show……. or change your suits…..in SHORT “don’t F@$ with a a good thing”….as Walt put it….haha…You know us women….we get a wild hair up our ass sometimes….and no one is going stand in our way! So, now I have to tell Walt…..(who suggested I should just stick with what I was doing being so close to a show)….he is THE MAN….omg….shoot me know…..lol

so the scoop is….I came in way TOO lean….looking flat….and more like a thin swimsuit model, instead of a shapely ATHLETE! After only two days ….of eating total crap…..and lots of it….I am already filling back out….ahhhhh…..the lessons we have to learn!

I also learned that I don’t look good in red under stage lights. Didn’t think blondes could go wrong with red…..But, the color did NOTHING for me ON STAGE. But, I wanted new suits! LOL

I was 15th straight across the board….thats 10 placings down from my 2pc….and 5 down from my 1pc showing in Chicago……..its the first time I cried after a show in a long time……even though I kinda knew I was not ON IT…..I started something and HAD TO FOLLOW THROUGH…..just how I am…..its still a disappointment…..after 3 weeks of 5 and 6 am cardio…..which just about killed me…..it was a real let down….Walt wants me to regroup and do another show in 6 weeks…. but, have not decided yet ….just want to eat my KRISPY KREMES right now….haha…..

With all mistakes, comes KNOWLEDGE. I learned a lot from this last show…..and its ALL part of the process. Everyone has to LEARN what works for them. Sometimes its just trial and error. People AlWAYS want to know what I DO in terms of diet and exercise. Everyone is unique. You can take what I do, or what others tell you they do to lay the ground work, but then its up to you to LEARN what works BEST for you. Get to know your BODY, its the best way to achieve to YOUR goals!
