Rough times..

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Does anyone find that when something happens to them in their personal life, they tend to train harder? I have had a horrible week/weekend but that didn’t stop me from hitting the gym each day. It, in fact, made me train just a little harder. Anger and frustrations flowing out steadily. Although it did not RID me of my overwhelming feelings, it did help me cope a little better. Maybe these little personal life tragedies are what fuel us to move on stronger and push a littler harder? Maybe it takes a huge kick in the ass, when you’re already down, to point you in the right direction? In my case, that direction is my body.

I’m not on this journey for anyone else… just for ME. This is the first thing in 3 years I have done for my self and to actually hear people responding to my changes, astounds me. I look at me everyday so sometimes I don’t see it clearly enough, but the changes are there. I’m regaining self confidence and self esteem. I lost a part of my self when I married and had children, but it seems through all the difficult times behind me, and still in front of me, it’s pushing me to want to excel a little more.

I’m excited for this. To be healthy and fit and to push on through the rough times…in the gym…and out.

“Clean Eating”???

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Here’s the deal… I am the mother of 2 small children and my husband is deployed. "Clean eating" is quite possibly the hardest thing I have EVER done! I usually just eat what they haven’t or make my self an extra portion of Mac & Cheese or whatever they happen to be eating. Not only is it difficult NOT to eat what they are eating but cooking for ONE sucks! haha I’ve tried, and I make MORE than enough but instead of saving it, I feel the compultion to keep eating. Now not only have I eated the WRONG thing but I’ve eated A TON of it!!

I know I need to come up with a diet and STICK to it. I’m basically just trying to eat foods that I like and enjoy, rather than eating tuna out of the can (sorry V haha). I constantly refer back to this famous tuna can situation because those of you who DO this are the center of my envy!! That is epitome of CLEAN eating and I wish I could do that, but #1, I HATE fish & #2 My dedication is obviously not at that level.

I know that clean eating is a HUGE part of the weight loss/ muscle gain process so ANY advice is highly welcomed. I’ve read several articles on here and I guess the best advice I’ve come up witht thus far is to make a chart. As child-like as that sounds it’s an excellent way to monitor what goes in and to realize what I cannot put in!! Make senese???

HELP!! hahahaha

Starting…

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

So new to BodySpace and very excited. I Like to be able to post my progress and share with it others. I had my 2nd child in September and am trying my damn hardest to get back in shape! I want my pre-pregnant body back, complete with abs and muscle mass! As a former Hooter Girl, yes, HOOTER GIRL and PROUD… I’m used to having a great looking body. After my first was born I didn’t bother getting back in shape, I was a stay at home mother. Now as the mother of 2 I find it increasingly important to not only be fit but to have the body that I am happy with once again.

My best friend competes in figure competitions as has been a HUGE inspiration in my journey. Although I am NOT the person to be eating tuna from the can and competing the mean with broccoli (sorry girl haha) she has taught me to eat more healthy and to push my self to obtain my goals.

I started just one month ago and I am excited and interested to see how far I can take my body!!!
