Sexy back by November’s competition

October 14, 2007

So, about a month of my Goal Training has went by, and I know that i can do way better.  I have had 5 weeks pass where one week i’ll go in for five days of strict training, then the next week will be 3, next week 4, following week 2, etc.  I  have seen results, but the results are not as severe as they could be.  I finally posted up some progress pics, and i am delighted that i see some progress, so imagine what consistency will do!

With that said, i am on a new kick.  The Bev Francis competition is next month, I believe on November 16th, and while i am clearly not competing, I want to be a svelte and sculpted on-looker!  I am very excited to be attending my first fitness competition, i am sure it will get me even more pumped to compete next year.

As aforementioned, I WILL compete next year, so I am slicing the fat on my own, and by the beginning on 2008, I will be roping in one of my fellow trainers to help get me into competition/modeling status.  With the goals I have in the Entertainment/fitness/Fashion industries, my weight will not hold me back, i need my body to be my main promo tool, especially for personal training.  It has been a long time coming, but I am taking the final steps towards getting my certification.  I am taking the test in three weeks, so hopefully I will be attending the competition as a CERTIFIED personal trainer.  Will have an update on my routine for this week later in the week, and I am promising myself to follow this routine for at least a month, need to give my body enough time to adapt to a routine so i can see what type of training has what kind of effects on my body. Ciao for now.

Motivated through Tragedy

September 11, 2007

This is week three of my new attitude…my friend, Age 27,passed away the week after I started, didnt get into the gym like I would have liked to that week, but I was a reminded of  a lesson that has driven me to work even harder these last few weeks: make every moment count and make sure to achieve a little more of your goal everyday.  At her young age, she had accomplished so much, was always so positive and focused on attaining her dreams by any means necessary.  That is what I say that I am about, but I wasn’t applying that mentality at all times, so now I am back at making things happen by any means necessary.

With that said,This is week 3 of my commitment to CONSISTENCY in fitness, as mentioned before, I am always semi-fit, but need to focus on consistency to get me where I am trying to go in my career and personal goals in fitness.  So to  help, I have been logging my workouts in my journal, which has been a great help.  I am able to go back and check what weight was used on certrain muscles before, instead of relying on memory, and therefore advance and challenge myself to keep up hill with my strength and/or endurance.  I also see what weight may have been too much, and make the proper adjustments, but still give myself deadlines to reach a certain weight, # of reps.

I have noticed a slight difference, but not nearly as much progress as I could be getting.  I have been going in 4 days a week, instead of my planned 6, and I need to up the ante on the cardio.  I try to do more of a variety with the cardio instead of my usual 25 on the elliptical and 15 min on the treadmill.  I now do Spinning on Mondays, and I have always done capoeira, but thats not enough.  I have been working towards my 8 minute mile, trying to shave 30 seconds off a week, started at 10:29, then went to 10:04, this week I am going to push for 9:15-9:30, we’ll see how that goes!  I write out muscles that I will work, and pick random exercises for these muscles each time I do them.  For the next two weeks, I am going to stick with the same exercises for each muscle group, and then switch it up for the next two weeks, etc.  I feel like there is too much variety, believe it or not, in my workout. I also need to get more rest to reap the benefits I want, work on 3 hours of sleep. Anyway, speaking of rest,  I am off to bed, have to be at work at 5:15AM!

Welcome!

August 17, 2007

This is my 3rd consecutive day back in the gym.  I say "back" because every month I have my consistent week or two, then I fall of for a week or two, and start all over again, but this is it!  I could be so much further in my training, so I am making it happen now.  Set a deadline for myself to September 20th to go back into personal training, and I made an agreement that I wouldn’t do that until I myself was an example of my knowledge that I have, and could live up to the same expectations that I set for my clients.

today, I am focusing on cardio because I have been doing mostly strength training these past two days.  So I am going to crank out the old tae bo video, and bang that out for an hour. I am completely sore from re-shocking my muscles with strength training.  Tonight I have Capoeira, so that will be all the strength training that I need for a day!  Want to try a spinning class at the gym I work at, it looks so intense, and its something i never tried before.

On Wednesday I worked on Chest, Shoulders, Triceps,  Quads, and abs

On Thursday, I Worked on Back, Delts, and a little bit of abs just because I got that extra pump to do so.

I did 15 minutes of cardio each day, so today I am starting my 45-1hour cardio.

I am going to try this program for the next two weeks, to have a constant program and see how effective it is:

Monday: Legs

Cardio: 30 min elliptical, capoeira

Tuesday: Back, Abs, shoulders

35 min. elliptical 15 treadmill

Wednesday: Chest, tri’s, bi’s

Cardio: treadmill(if knee is feeling ok) 20 min, elliptical 30min, capoeira

Thursday: Legs, Back, Abs

Cardio: Tuesday’s

Friday:  Shoulders, Chest, Tri’s, bi’s

cardio: 20 min elliptical, capoeira

Saturday:

cardio: spinning
