Good, heavy back workout today….too tired to run after school so I’m gonna run tomorrow morning

Today was kind of a spur-of-the-moment workout. Monday’s usually legs day, which I planned on doing, but it was also a run day…so I did something a little different. Instead of driving the whole mile to my gym, I strapped on my backpack real tight and ran there…taking the long way of course. By the time I got there I was pretty pumped and wanted to run some more, so I ran for about 15 minutes at a pretty fast pace…still haven’t had enough cardio when that was over so then I hit the elliptical for about 10 minutes. Then I did my usual leg workout but I put the weighted lunges in the middle instead of at the end for some variation. I also did some old army exercises to try to work my glutes - back kicks and the fire hydrant (on all fours, rotating legs out or straight back) so now that my legs are nice and sore, time to run home! I just took the straight shot to the house, which is only about 0.6 mile but that was plenty enough for me. That was the most exciting event of my day…except for hopefully the sox game coming on later tonight. Anyway, I also weighed myself the other day for the first time in about 8-9 days and I was about 5 lbs lighter than what I usually am…hopefully I can keep it up.

This is my first blog but might as well just jump into things…I got up early to run this morning (i even avoided going out last night to hydrate and get a good night’s sleep) but my run was okay. I start with about a mile or so warm-up and then do speed intervals - run hard for 30 seconds, jog for 90 seconds…I do that for about 30-40 minutes. About the middle of my run I was kind of sucking…I even walked for a minute or two - which I NEVER do…but I did make up for it by doing some awesome sprints at the end of my workout. Enough of running…this IS bodybuilding.com. I worked chest yesterday and I’m seeing better results everyday. Today’s back (which also includes rear delts) I’m thinking of using some row machines to change it up a little bit. I’d like to get my rear-delts up to par with my fronts and middles…maybe I’ll do another rear delt exercise today. I noticed today I’m still seeing more definition in my abs…I just really need to keep up the cardio and keep my diet clean to get them even more cut. But bodybuilding is a never ending quest…that’s why I love it. Well I’ve got to go to school in a couple minutes…yay…
