Hello all you cooky Martial Artists. I was honored and privelged enough to test for my 3rd degree Black Belt with Amir Academy of Martial Arts. The system is comprised of Northern and Southern Kung Fu, Muay Thai, San Shou, Kyokuhin-kai, Uechi Ryu and American Kickboxing. The test was a total of 2 days.

The first day was on Egmont key of St Petersburg FL. The day involved running, swimming, cawling, push ups, tons and tons of squats, pain tolerence and bare knuckle sparring. This is vague, but as accurate as I can be right now.

Monday was back to the Dojo, where each one of us had to fight under American Kickboxing rules for 3 rounds, Muay Thai for 3 rounds, San Shou for 1 round, MMA for 1 round and then fight up to 7 people at once for several rounds. WAS NOT FUN!!

Now that it is over I am glad I completed the test, especially since I am moving in June to NY. This test is what it means to be called Master. Not the forms, prearranged self defens, one step sparring, or other McDojo bulls#%t. This was a test of physical ability, mental focus and a measure of students heart. That is the principle and meaning behind Martial Arts training.

All 12 of us passed the test. Master Amir will give us the official feed back soon. Either way, to me it was a complete success.

I received a lot of positive feedback on my new excecise regime. But there were questions about certain things, so here we go.

What is a Power Buster, or Strengthbuster? That is a workout that specifically targets strength gains. An example is my Power 6 workout which is the simple power movements. Another example is supersetting, ex. Bench press w/ push-ups.

What are cutters? This is what I call adding calistentics or multi muscle exercises to the end of a standard workout. I use these for ab definition, shoulder and arm definition and calorie burning. Ex is Kettle bell figure 8’s, raised sit ups and pull ups. Three exercises, maybe 4, to burn out after your muscle isolation. Target is endurance, overall fitness, and definition. Hence the term….CUTTERS.

I want to try 1 week of alternate workouts ie. Push Pull, cutters, Strength busters and Multi muscle movements. Then 1 week of isolation. After that back to the crazy stuff. I can shake this regime up six ways past Sunday. Lets see where this goes. Thanks to SensiD, BrandiTKO, Krijafu and Jenabsgirl for the intense motivation.

On December 06, 2008 I fought for the Florida state ISKA Cruiserweight title. I was expected to fight 5 rounds of Muay Thai rules kickboxing against an opponent who I faced in March. I knocked him out with body blows in March.

The fight started with an amazing exchange of techniques. I landed some really good kicks to his lead leg and hit him with a spinning back fist that shook him.

In the second round he landed a flurry of really strong punches and thought he was going to hurt me, not really the case. I landed a hard strait left cross to the jaw and put him on the mat.

Third round came and I kept landing the left hand and taking control of the fight. I soon landed a knee strike to the ribs and made him fall a third time. He got right up and I put pressure on him, eventually landing a crushing right hook to his rib(that I previously kneed), and the ref stopped the fight, naming me the winner and new champion!!

My opponent was the toughest man I ever faced and I respect him highly. He was a tremendous fighter and it was an honor to compete with him. In my opinion there were no losers in this one. I just wanted it more, kind of like the Giants vs the Patriots AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
