This week I am trying something different, plus it’s a win win for everyone … I am completely frustrated with my legs at this point, and Master’s is less then 4 weeks away… I know I will not be able to change them that fast, nor do I expect too. However, I have a good 5 weeks before my final show of the season, and then it’s off season, yippy.
So, I thought it would be pretty cool to get some much needed feedback from my new friends here on body space… plus, I will have gifts for the top 3 exercises that I pick to try out ..
I know you are anticipating and waiting to find out how this is all going to work (or would that just be the gifts)… either way, this is going to be fun…
Guess I will start with the leg workout that I am looking for: Basically, I am looking for a killer move for legs, something that will break down the fibers and really make me not be able to walk or move for days, ok maybe not that intense, but something needs to change.
The top three who submit a cool exercise that could help me out will receive a gift from me. The exercise I am most interested in would be for the quads. Again something that will hit them hard, the exercise will have to also include how much weight and rep’s as well as sets that I would or should do. All of my stat’s are on my page, and feel free to check out all the pictures so you have a good idea of what I would like to change.

tina try this: 100reps on leg extension(no stopping) head right to leg curl and do the same. Repeat
free barbell squat: 15 reps 5 times, (don’t lock out at the top)(weight should be a challenge)
step ups use a bench and keep the lead leg on the bench for the entire 15reps before switching feet, use 20lb DB in each hand. 2 sets(don’t lock out knee at the top)
if you can walking lunge up and down a hill outside, at the bottom of the hill jumping lunges (switching legs in the air) 20 times. the hill shouldn’t be to steep. repeat.
very little rest keep moving, this entire workout shouldn’t take very long to do.

INVERTED LEG PRESS ON SMITH MACHINE
On your back on a bench put your feet under the smith machine, wide stance, slow controlled movements on the way down, steady in the hole, explosive power move on the way up.
Have two spotters on either side. Do 8 reps then strip the weight and finish with 8 more reps. Do 4 sets of 16 reps. Increase weight, last set that first 8 reps should be as heavy as you can go and when you strip the weight, last set is to failure.

Self criticism is the best criticism and that’s why you’re in such good shape. Tina your legs look great. My legs seem to respond well to long distance running but I’m still trying to work out the secrets myself.

My legs respond best to deep compound moves with higher reps of 15-20. Everybody is different and the above suggestions are great. I also prefer giant sets that move around the gym with a good pace. If hamstring tightness isn’t an issue try narrow foot placement as well to work on the outer sweep of your quad. Add in some kick ass music and you are there. Thanks is good enough for me:) I love to share leg missery. LOL
