taking a nap

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

TDetroit

yup, that right.  when men turn 40, they have the right to take a nap in the middle of the day.

so I am taking my nap and enjoying the beautiful view out my bedroom window.  considering, what would it be like to be like this all the time?  I hear the wind in the trees, and I have fresh air blowing through my room.    quiet, but loud all at the same time.

Flirt with me

Flirt with me

Just a word, or maybe two, from her

Excitement is derived

Her words caress me like a summer

With hidden thoughts contrived

A suggestion and then turn away

Oh please, did you mean it

She returns her attention my way

Now she smiles with eyes lit

Then again, she backs away from this

Her leg is closer though

Skirt slightly higher, slip is a wisp

Her skin, showing me more

Now an advance, is this permission

To offer a kiss, lips

No, just another demonstration

Touching with finger tips

I want you, you know, you are teasing

That button was buttoned.  Now?

My heart is beating faster, singing

She looked at my pants.  Wow!

Touching her hair, twirling in fingers

Her hand touches my knee

She leaves it there, warm hand it lingers

I’m hard, doesn’t she see

Offer my hand, let’s go up to bed

She moves.  A cat with grace

Ahead of me, to the bed I’m led

Soon, she wears only lace

another of these poems in my head

Mansions of tears.

Love is a fountain from which streams

A river of hopes, prayers and dreams

From this fountain of unending wet

Pours what all hearts want as of yet

When the fountain is broken

crashed, torn, shattered and smoten

from an ending of breath and soul

from an ending time to go

when the next place in life

calls a soul through the strife

to be in a place of after

to be with ever laghter

at the calling to away

when no soul  can stay

for travel beyond the here

to be a part of there

a home there must be built

with the tears here are spilt

a mansion of stones created

by tears never sated

each tear becomes a stone

and builders sent by the throne

to use each one of those tears

to build a mansion for years

for the parting will be long

while angels sing a song

a soul must there reside

in a mansion by seaside

each tear will be one stone

and the builders ever hone

that home near to the sea

where the soul lives free

in heaven there to reside

the loved one does not hide

for there the soul who waits

while the other below fates

two who death did part

who live with only one heart

given to each other in bond

though one is now beyond

one must make the tears

so the other may spend the years

in heaven high up above

a mansion made of love

with tears, each is a stone

the builders will build the home

for one to reside

‘til the other is by side.

A lady in tow

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

TDetroit

Living in the country
getting some peace
a quiet place to reside
with life of ease

no ant hill labory
or rushing days
just a goose in my yard
and sunny ways

when the wind is blowing
and rain comes down
the pond drinks up water
there is no frown

for soon there will be sun
the grass will grow
with my barefeet I’ll walk
lady in tow.

She has come home - the solitary goose

Friday, March 28th, 2008

TDetroit

The solitary goose dithers near the pond

he is constantly working

building his home

"she’s coming home, she’s coming home"

he sings as he works

the pond is ice

ice is cold

cold like his skin

cold with out her

the solitary goose wades in the water near the river

the pond will melt

the pond will warm

when she comes home

"she’s coming home, she’s coming home"

he sings while he works

the water warms

he splashes in the water

the water splashes him

she is home

The goose in my yard

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

TDetroit

The lsolitary goose stands by the edge of the pond

The pond still frozen in the nearly spring weather

A layer of slush and water covers the surface

Is he a lonely goose returning from the south?

Does he have a mate he is waiting for?

Is waiting to find that special goosette?

Is he the same goose who has lived here for 5 years?

If he is, where is his mate?

Did she leave him?  Did she not survive the migration.

Honk, honk, honk

The solitary goose walks onto the pond

splash, splash, splash

The solitary goose walks on the water

Where is my mate?

Where is my love?

Why am I alone?

honk, honk, honk

Does anyone hear me?

Where is MY mate?

honk, honk, honk

Time to build my summer home.
