I’ve been rollerblading so much that when I get to bed at night I can’t sleep because my legs are on fire. Sort of a jelly legs DOMS.
I am not getting much sleep because of the burning. I go lay down and then it’s a long time layng there awake but not enough awake to get up and do something. too tired to attempt to make use of the time.
I am now one of those who waits for teh weekend to be able to get some sleep.
Side note to all of you bikers out there.
My friend Harvey, was riding down to TN to pick up some …ahem… party supplies. He was in the lead and his friend dropped back just a bit. A car squeezed in between and nudged Harvey’s rear tire. Harvey went out of control and hit the car in front of him, fell of his bike and the car who nudged him ran him over.
It really sucks. Why can’t car drivers have respect for motorcyclists?
The funeral viewing is today and the funeral is tomorrow.
These days suck!

… for the dishwasher.
It’s not ded yet, but getting closer. I started to notice something wrong when the dishes on the top rack were not coming clean. After a bit of inspection, I found the top sprayer to not be working. This led me to try and understand, over a few days, how that thingy works. Eventually, I took the DW out of teh cabinet.
It was when I took it out of the cabinet that I found the bigger problem. The water in line has a bad connection. It is very rusty and I think touching it will break it. Water haas been spraying from a hole there and hitting the cabinet. There is "almost" a hole in teh side of my cabinet. If I hadn’t pulled the DW out, the problem would hae eventually been a disaster.
I still don’t know how to fix the upper sprayer arm. there is no water getting to the nosel. and the water only trickles into the DW from the inlet. It should spray.
It looks like I’ll be dishwasher shopping today. Unless there is a miracle. so prayers for the DW and if not a miracle, then a moment of silence…

Usually I call the kids nasty, stinky, filthy rats. They smell, refuse to bathe, make the most disgusting messes wherever they go, and are generally repulsive. That’s when they are behaving.
now that I have a workout room, I am rethinking the rats concept. Whenever I go to the basement to workout, I have to step over the "gifts" the kids leave there in front of the door. It reminds me of when the cats brings me a mouse and drops it on my kitchen floor. "See, there was a mouse in the house. And you said I am good for nothing. Well, I got this one."
My kids like to bring a toy to my workout room door and leave it there for me to see it. Why? I am not interested in the messiness my kids make. I want it gone - about as much as I want the cat gone (dog person, does anyone want my cat?)
So, are they rats or cats.

So I have a client (and friend) who is an opthmaulogist. He has a patient (and friend) who is a pro boxer. I asked to be introduced so I can ask for lessons. turns out he is a trainer as well.
Today was lesson one. He likes to keep it cardio style. So we met at dunham’s to buy some equip for me. Now I have gloves, jelly gloves, and a jump rope.
Jab, double jab, 1 -2, upper cut. we did all sorts of combinations. he likes my left. I like to hit hard with my left. I out it all into those.
then we did some heavy bag in rounds and some speed bag and I left with sore arms like you wouldn’t believe. This is going to be fun.

Not having a gym, and using limited space in the bedroom, I have been away from the big leg stuff. No squats, just stairs and rollerblading. I did put the 2 lb weights on my calves yesterday and today. It does give great DOMS. But not the same as real lifting with the legs.
So today, I did have some extra space among the tools in the new workout room. so I did some lunges with 45 lb db’s in hands. Just a set of 10 to each leg, really felt good to burn. I will know about it tomorrow.
Did 5X5 arnold presses and 3X10 shrugs with the 45’s. I saw some extra 10’s at the store the other day. I need two more to be able to put together 55 lb DB’s. and 6 more for 65 lb DB’s. I know in the spring, when everyone is gung ho, I can get some 25’s as well. so I should be able to put together some great iron over the next 8 months or so.

yes, I have found another way to do it.
Yesterday was rollerblading over 6 miles with an additional 2 lb weight strapped to each calf. today is burning legs - DOMS.
so if you want DOMS in your legs, I have found another way to do it.
