A great workout today

I was a little sore going in - hammies. But I did it anyway.

Dead Lifts. 135×10, 225×5, 225×5, 225×5

Seated Calf Press. 2 Platesx10, 3 Platesx 10, 3 Platesx 10

Squats  135×10, 225 with quater reps x6, x6, x6

Seated Military Press  65×10, 95 x 5, 115×3, 115×1  this is a personal best for me.  I am weak on the overhead, and have never worked out at 115

I then went to the rowing machine.  I did 1000 meters in 4 min and 20 seconds.  I was so work out, and dead in every muscle after that.  I was out of breathe, and shaking - yup, i went into overload.  it took a lot of water and some horizontal traction to get better.

Steam room.  I noticed that the heart rate stays elevated longer in the steam room.  that must be for the cooling.  but I was sweating it out.  it was dripping off of me like running water.  the heart rate elevation is just a nice elevation.  perfect for fat burning.  not up there in the muscle burn world.

I had to take a shower before coming home, I was even bothering me…

Smoking Gun Criminals

Have you seen this show.  it’s the funniest thing ever.

they show the stories of criminals, usually caught on tape.  these criminals are doing something stupid in committing their particular crime. 

and if that isn’t bad enough, the producers show the tapes to hollywood losers for comment, and then mix the replies in with the tapes and the commentator.

nothing is worse than Danny Bonaducci calling you stupid, or Willis, or whoever they have on the show.  I think one is Leif Garret.  You know you’ve hit bottom when…

Three guys handcuffed together are getting out of a police van to go into court.  They take off running with the officers three steps behind them.  Not 30 feet into their run, one goes to the right of a pole, and the other two go left.  Like a dog at the end of a leash, they jerk… and then swing around the pole and get tangled together.  The officeer was having trouble untangling them to bring them back to the court house.  it’s all on film.  and the hollywood guys are making fun of it. 

#16 on the countdown, is a guy who goes to the bank.  then goes away and comes back with a note for the teller, which he gives to her in front of a cop.  He’s getting advice from Willis.

one of the idiots is robbing a convenience store.  to steal something off the counter, he puts his shot gun down on the counter.  the clerk takes it.  rotflmao!  Leif Garret says, "come on, man!"

you have got to see this show when it’s on.  the best entertainment on tv.

Exhausted

I am too tired to do anything.  I skipped teh gym because I feel lethargic and find my own body to heavy to lift off the couch.  I have a head ache and jaw ache (TMJ at night), and I would sleep if it was night.  the dog keeps bringing me her rope so I can throw it upstairs in the bath room (then she brings it back), but my arm is weak today and I am not getting it up there enough. - she is quite distressed.

I know I should be eating more, but I am tooo tired to eat. 

so it looks like it’s couch time.  and my fantasy team is loosing, kinda… i did manage to get back to a tie, but I am playing a receiver and kicker v a quarterback.  I have Burress and Carney, he has JT O’sullivan.  Currently, JT is screwing up and pulling a rookie, but my guys are palying against the best D in the league.

Maybe I’ll go out in the middle of the night and do some yard work, that’s when I’ll probably get my second wind.

Brunch Buffet

we got 2 gift certs for a brunch in Oxford at kalloway’s.  they do this every sunday.  good food. 

I tried to stick to the protein, but the waffles got in the way.  I had scrambled eggs and bacon.  then waflles with strawberries.  then an omellette.  then meatballs and groovy.  then shrimp.

now I want to sleep instead of going to the gym.  maybe I can push that off to later in the day.

MSU v UM

2 average teams playing average football, acheiving average scores, in an average division, and having average records. All in all and on average, this game has acceptably average excitiment.
MSU 2 big plays for TD’s, UM lucky call - I still don’t think it’s a TD, but then there are those who know the rules and then there are those who watch from home.

yesterday workout

i did it right.  started with piece of salmon and no sides 15 min before leaving the house.  then I mixed the creatine and drank it on the way.  it takes 20 min to get to the gym. 

Arc Trainer at 45 for 5 min = 89 calories burned

alternating raises - front and at an angle with 15 lb DBs.  5 each side each excercise x 3

hammer curls 40’s x 4,4,4 

seated arnold presses 30 x 10, 35 x 10, 40 x 6, x5

DB Press50’s x 10,x8,x6

DB Bent rows 60’s x10,x10,x7

DB wrist curls 40 each wrist x10,x10,x5

I’ve always wondered where the defficiency on the right side was at.  the right is clearly weaker, but now I know for sure where. it is definitely the wrist.  I was doing curls with a 100 lb bar.  yesterday I used the 40 lb DB.  the right immediately didn’t like it.  the first set was nearly impossible for the right, but left said "easy".  on the third set, i could only do 5 with the right. 

clearly I’ll be doing many more wrist curls.

So my cousin tells me about this facebook thingy.  apparently, one of my other cousins has retreated to it, and you can’t get a message to her without going there.  I log on, and BOOM!  everyoone I know is there.  they’ve been talking about me behind my internet back - i just know it. 

no one escapes me. I have found you all.  including people I haven’t seen in 20+ years - that would be when I was like 9 years old, right?  RIGHT?  I thought you would agreee that I am only 29.  I ahve had 11 anniversaries of my 29th birthday, but I am still 29.

so, now I am sending messages to people and adding friend’s and I have a new addiction to go with working out and playing with bb.com.  I doubt I will ever get any REAL work done ever again.  good thing I have 2 computers on my desk, or I would be in real trouble.

Time for a checkup on the boys’ grades

My sons were doing their homework at the kitchen table.  so I grabbed the laptop and logged in to powerschool.  this is a cool website, where the teachers post the grades as they are hyappening through out the year.  so you know right away when your kids didn’t do their homework.

so the oldest one is getting straight A’s in the classes that give you an A for having a pulse.  (Jazz band, marching band)  That’s a C+ in Language Arts (his head hurts now from all the waps to the side of it)  he is getting B- in drafting - a class that allows unlimited extra credit.  B+ in geometry - supposedly this is a mathmatics expert we are talking about here.  Apparently doing his homework is veiwed as optional, and he doesn’t feel the need to take notes in class (especially the class where notetaking is graded).  I see lot’s of yard work in his future.

the second one has come to believe that having the answers in the back of the mathbook is quite useful for doing his homework.  of course he has learned nothing and get’s gailing grades on the quizzes.  too bad he enjoys cleaning toilets, or that would be his punishment.  I am sure I will think of something equally cruel.

Looks like I am going to have to rely upon my daughters to help me out during my retirement, because my sons are destined to be homeless ditch diggers.

very sore today

the back work out yesterday was like an attack.  I went in and hit the sets hard and fast.  I didn’t put much into the rest periods.  it was more like a cardio workout. 

today, I am paying for it.  everything hurts - from the deadlifts.  my lats feel like they are torn, my hammies are throbbing, my tris are burning (I did the pushup workout 2 days before), mid back, center back at the top, forearms, let’s just say i got it all with those dead lifts.

I am wearing swimming shorts and a cut up T-shirt today.  on the advice of NinjaBill, I looked in the mirror.  lookin’ good if I do say so.  the t-shirt covers up the love handles.  I have these bag-like things that hub my obliques, from ribcage to just above the hips.  I’d like to get rid of those.  I know it’s cardio, but I don’t want to give up the leg mass.  the real plan would be - do the cardio until the bags are gone, and then rebuild the legs in a clean bulk.  now it’s a fight between my brain and my stubborness.  You’d think my brain would win, but you’ve never met an Italian as stubborn as me. 

I am taking bets.   The line is for the stubborn Italian to win handily, but the brain pays 3 to 1.  place your bets.

Pullups 2 (in my defense, I was tired from lack of sleep when i went in)

Inclined DB Rows at 55 lbs  10 , 10

DB Raises at 40 lbs  10, 10, 6

Declined Situps with a 35 lb plate 15, 15
