squats 1×3 at 135 warmup, 2×5 at 275
deadlifts 1×3 at 135 warmup, 2×5 at 275
you’ll notice that my workouts have gotten shorter since I started doing both on the same day, it really wears you out to lift these two lifts at max back-to-back
arc trainer 3 min at resistance 45 = 57 calories this is getting easier again, I may have to either go to 4 min or go to resistance of 50
DB bench pressess 1×5 at 55, then I found out someone stole one to the 60’s, so I went up to 65 and did 1×10 and 1×7
glute isolator 1×5 at each 80, 90,100
straight leg lift crunches with twists 2×21.
then I came home and did some block work. finished up to the top course where the wall attaches to the house on both sides. if I can get the old lady to stop sending the boys to friend’s houses every weekend, i can spend next weekend running the courses real fast. there isn’t much cutting to do after this.
what do you think my chances are, she likes the kids to have all the things she never had, i could be f’ed on this. if she didn’t have cancer, i’d punish her by making her be my helper. damn women, don’t you know boys are supposed to stay home all weekend to help their dad’s outside. look at today, she took them to a friend’s house to play in a pool, what a waste of a perfectly good sunny day. the nerve of some people - going to a pool on a sunny day. think of all the yard work those kids could’ve gotten done, instead they were playing in a pool. pool’s are for rainy days when there is no work to do!

let’s review:
each block is 80 lbs
each is carried by first doing a bent over row, press it to your body, hold back muscles tight and walk, then gently set down
the walk is up a hill, across a small opening, and down some steps
setting them down is in a pile to use them when ready
when ready, do a bentover row, and wlak to the wall, set down
use forearms to position the block
some blocks have to be picked up and re-positioned.
that about covers it. 1 total body workout and the the patio is getting better looking all the time
a few more weeks and the picnic table will be in place
I just wish my little helpers (sons) weren’t always at friends houses. I could use them for the 6A and the slag

I did my max this morning - 30 at normal position. then I got thinking. hmmm…..
So after a little rest, I went back at it, but this time, I positioned the handles higher (instead of parallel with mt shoulders, I moved them to parallel with the top of my head) I got in 24 pushups this way. at around number 16, I really feel the abs pulling.
to do pushups in this position, you need to start hammer grip when up and twist to bar grip at the bottom.
neat and different workout, i think i’ll do more of this one in the future.

So my friend in Milwaukee bought my wife a plane ticket and an appointment to a Phd Nutritionist in there. This is the payback I get for sharing my lunch in High Screwel. See, my best friends mom was a late shift nurse and a remarried widow. Second husband is a great dad to not only her kids but me too. Anyway, she’s a horrible cook. so they always went to screwel with what we Italians call Mangia Cake food (they eat that bread that looks like cake). So Suzanna (whose name used to be Suzy- and I still call her that) used to eyeball my lunch. since I had an Italian boy lunch (I had more than three grown men could eat) I would always supply her with good food - plus it’s always cool when an older hotchick is sitting next to you for lunch.
so, fast forward all these years later, and Suzy is married to a doc in Milwaukee - and he’s doing WELL - my wife get’s cancer, and Suzy buys her an appointment with a strange doc who uses nutrition to cure cancer. now, I am not totally poo pooing this concept, but think about it, cancer usually means too late for nutrition.
what’s the protocol prescribed? oh, just everything we talk about right here at bb.com. get your vits, uses the individual vits according to problems that arise, eat fresh food, avoid processed foods, no mayo, less red meat and more clean protein, fish oil and salmon, etc. I am already doing it all
I used to tell people that I wanted my fat included in my milk, because I paid for it. Think about it, it is priced the same as low fat. Now, all that cost to remove the fat and they increase the price of the whole milk to equal the price of low fat. I paid for it, I want it. And I was like that about all foods. But I am different, I grew up Italian, meaning I eat healthy food all the time, I just add unhealthy food to my diet as a treat. so I can make that joke.
My wife and my friends grew up "white" meaning they eat crap with crap on top. All processed foods that mom can heat and serve in 3 min using a microwave. My dad refuses to eat anything that has been in that thing, not becasue he believes it will kill people who eat it, but because the cook didn’t put in the effort to make the food worthy of his tongue. and that is the gist.
the doc told my wife that all meat you eat, whether red or white, should be cooked at 225 degrees until the propeer temp (medium well). Never cook fast, because it converts the meat to carcinogens. Never undercook, because you’ll die of food poisoning. 225 for as long as it takes.
I call this cooking as if you love the person who will eat it. considering that YOU are one of the people who will be eating it, it is really bad if you cook too fast. Lovin’ should take a long time (personally, I don’t think it’s worth it to make love unless you spend 45 min on the deed.)
So, lesson learned from a Phd Nutrionist is two things:
1. Never eat fast food (even home cooked fast food). Make it all from scratch, eat a wide variety of foods to get your nutrients
2. Mike is always right. You never have the right to doubt. OK, I’ll let you have the right to doubt, but you are still wrong.

squats 2×6 at 265 the first spotter was ok, the second was great, he talked me through each rep
deads 2×6 at 265 it’s actually easier as the weight goes up, because there are fewer reps. I should rethink the weekly progression
arc trainer resistance 45 = 55 cals
standing hammer curls 3×6 at35
db bench press 3×6 and x10 at 55
db bent rows 3×8 at 60

I had to pay my accountant. that means I went to his house and worked on his basement for a few hours. I owe a lot of back pay for the years he did my taxes (which are not easy). I haven’t paid since 2002 (for my ‘01 taxes).
the only problem with this workout is that only my left arm - the strong one - get’s a workout. The right arm is just a holder of nails. so today at the gym, i’ll do some extra sets on the right side to make up.
a little back work yesterday in the form of lifting and some push and pull of lumber here and there.
today at the gym is the deads and squats at 265 lbs. i’ll repaort back

took the day off from working out. Wednesday was still in the system. legs weree like jelly alll day, apparently 7 min on treadmill att 5mph when you are not used to it is too much.
makes you think though, how do marathon runners do it. they run 10 miles a day for 3 months, wth 17 or more once per week, and then expect to be able to do 26. if you run 10, shouldn’t you be able to run 10. on the arc trainer, I do 3 min, and guess what, I am able to do 3 min - it’s asimple calculation…
plan on running sprints tonight when I get home. today is supposed to be our first 70 degree day in MI. of course it might snow on sunday. (and the folks in CA, and FLA say MI is not exciting - numbnuts)
Gotta go, the dog wants to go out…

another short intense workout. Ileft it all in the gym. it’s only 2 hours later and I;m already feeling it.
wanted to start with a little cardio, so 1/2 mile at 5 mph = just under 7 min - 73 cals
then listing.
I don’t know what you call it, but you put the bb in the corner, and put weights on one end and squat to lift and then press to lift above your head, then bring down to left shoulder and press again, then down to right shoulder and press again. That’s 1 rep
I did 2×5 with 2 plates
then laying extensions
3×6 and 1×3 at 80 (almost dropped on my face)
3min on arc trainer at 45 = 55 cals
side lunges 3×5 (each side) with 1 plate
db presses
1×10 at 45
1×10 at 50
1×6 at 55
1×2 at 55 (that was it, no mas. spotter was like what’s wrong? my right just died, dead. no mas)
short rest
db bent over rows
3×10 at 50
done

with squats on Sunday, and sprints on Monday, I am thinking Tuesday should be a rest day. I can get back to it on Wednesday night for some leg extensions, lunges, and presses. Plus the upper body stuff.
So what should we talk ablut today.
I know….
The in-laws….
Yes they have invaded the house for the week. Today they are taling their daughter (my wife) to chemo. But the problem is, that they wake up and watch the morning show on NBC. OK!
Listen to me, at this house we watch FOX. Propaganda is strictly forbidden. ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, HN, PMSNBC, etc. are all propaganda. Even the FOX local morning news is ridden with it, but at least they put "some" real news in the mix.
It’s a shame people allow themselves to be brainwashed by the propaganda that calls itself the American Media. It’s all lies and deceit.
Oh well, some people you just can’t reach. So you get what we have here today. Well, they want it, they get it.
