apparently, oatmeal has decided to get into my cereal rotation. see, i have a rotation. I don’t like to leave cereals open, you know like when you have 8 cereals and each one has been eaten once, so now all you have is a bug farm. (especially you folks living south of the mason dixon line - you have bugs that will eat my 50 lb dog)
so I eat one box at a time, then rotate to another. I use raison bran, miniwheats, and cheerios. well I just finsihed the miniwheats 2 days ago. yesterday I made my protein shake (plus the mona vei, which flavors it up awesome, i might buy it simply for the improvement to my shakes, the healthy antioxidants will just be a nice extra). So I took my first big gulp of it and turned around to reach on top of the fridge for the raison bran. but instead I went low and opened the cabinet to grab the oatmeal. go figure. it was just sitting there in the back of the cabinet commanding me, "eat me, eat me".
this is a command I like to respond to (did I just say that out loud? oh, i typed it, so it’s ok)
anyway, apparently i’ll be eating oatmeal for a while in the mornings

I have a cousin who I don’t talk to much. when we were little, he was the one who was always appointed to make I didn’t get into trouble. so he taught me how to get into trouble…
anyway, yesterday he calls. he heard about my wife beeing with cancer, and wanted say something about that. he also told me that a couple years ago he started distributing this berry juice - high in antioxidants - and wanted to give me a case for her. it’s that expensive stuff that few people buy because of the cost, and the claims of the manufacturers that it will cure everything.
it’s a network marketing thing, and they have their rallies where people stand up and declare that the docs told them they have 1 motnh to live, they started drinking the juice, became vegans and now it’s 20 years later and they are having sex 13 times a day. it’s like an evangelist convention.
that’s ok, because I belive these juices do work and have high medicinal value. I don’t know about the above, but I do know that you are better off for drinking these things. and most people don’t buy because of the price, but if you think about it, it’s not expensive. you have no prob buying a 90 supply of whey for $50, because that’s only 50 cents per day. well this is a little less. so it’s $1 per day for protein and antioxidants without a lot of carbs. duh. this is an easy one.
so we met at a parking lot we were both crossing, and he gave me a case of the juice. it’s called mona vei. I tried it out this morning. it just tastes like really strong mixed berries. didn’t get a chance to talk to the wife about it yet. she was asleep when I got home and left before I woke up. tonight I get home after she’s asleep, and she leaves after I wake up in friday, so it looks like saturday morning at the earliest.

I was at home and had a few min to kill.
so:
20 down ups with lubber jacks. ok, it doesn’t sound like anything you’ve heard of, but it’s a down up made difficult. good cardio
then I did 3×3 at 35/37 bicep curls. I didn’t want to change the weights, so I just left the db’s at 35 and went at it. the 37 is because I always tie a 2lb weight to the right side to help it catchup to the left.
then some leg lifts.
I kept it moving and I was done in 5 min. but the heart rate was up and the burn on the curls was at a max. since I won’t have a real workout today, this was a pretty good tie over.

I figure the figure the first place to look is going to be the price. Right? I mean why look into an occupation without knowing what you will get paid.
so what is the going rate for a personal trainer/fitness trainer/ physical trainer? and what is the PC title?
let’s see, I don’t have a gym, so they will have to have weights and equipment at home, or come to my gym and workout with me as "my friend", or get me into their gym as "their friend". there is always training you can do at home, infact some stuff can only be done at home - like sprints.
So I show up in workout gear, carrying a gym bag. I say let’s get to work and they pay me. How much? and is it difernet for diferent people? or do you just work with them more often? Iprob should give them excersizes to do when I am not there. I figure it is like my guitar lessons way back when. some work while there, but some of the real meat is when not in class. but this is diferent, because you definitely don’t want someone lifting heavy weights without their trainer.
so mostly db’s when not with me, then the heavy (yes, i know diferent for diferent people) bb’s with me. some light cardio without me (so they don’t have a heart attack) higher heart rates with me.
that reminds me, should I get CPR certified? Yup, a definite yup!
prob want to work off some of my fat too.
I wonder if some people can make insurance claims? some people should be allowed. I wouldn’t mind themleaching some insurance co money to fix themselves in the short run to get healthier in the long run which will cost the insurance co less. remember, you want theinsurance co to make money now, so it is available later when you get sick. but letting out a little money to for fitness training for a some people, would make the insurance co’s income higher later, maybe even creating a profit (little known fact - profit is always zero, except when accidently accomplished. positive profit can never be planned because it would involve knowing that a fortuitous event will occur inthe future- which of course is impossible short of time travel - income, that’s what you were thinnking of = a fictitious number created using a formula established by the government, having no or little bearing in reality, and used for the sole purpose of assessing income taxes)

in michigan, no license is required to be a fitness trainer or physical trainer. wow. there is a certification you can get from… some higher power out there, but this is not legally necessary to be in the business.
lot’s of people in MI are going for the certification, and talking like it is the be all and end all of the business. I am thinking, what the hey, why don’t I post up and do some weekend work. lot’s of people are looking for an inexpensive trainer. I can do that. it’s a good workout for me anyway.
plus I am the best salesman I know, so it should be easy to do this.
plus I can grab the certification at a later date if it becomes necessary.
just a thought.
I like people (except when they are getting on my nerves), and I like to see them get fit (because people who don’t even try to improve get on my nerves), and I have know how on how to get fit which I can share (except not with people who get on my nerves), and enjoy inflicting pain on other (expecially those who get on my nerves). so why not?
maybe I’ll do a geocities profile

did the retest today of my perfect pushup 1 set max reps. 27, up from 24, 12.5% increase. this means that theoretically i can do 40 regular pushups in 1 set (not today - arms are too tired).
what a difference it makes when the wife does not sap the strength before the test.
not going to go back on the perfect pushup for a while, it distracts the gym workout. it takes too much out of the body, and then when you get to the gym later, you have nothing. you are getting stronger, but in the gym you look like a 90 lb weakling. so I am going to stick with gym workout for a while. hope to increase squats to 350, and deads to 375. looking for big shrugs and I want to bench over 200 - for real, not just calculate 175 for 4 or 5 reps - i would like the max to be in the 240 range.
also need to get more cardio to see if I can break this belly fat. and still working on bigger forearms.
so, back to the gym until may

I went in tonight with the intent to hit abs and arms. doing the total body, I’ve been gaining overall strength, but at the expenses of slowing arm devellopment. I was also concerned that all the abs workouts, even the perfect pushup regimens, were not enough for the abs. So I go in, and spend some time doing various abs things until - no mas, no mas, NO MAS -FINI!
then i do 3 min cardio. then start arms. I hit the arms every which way. all kinds of things, in fact, typing this hurts.
finally, I go over to do some cardio (maybe this belly fat will budge a nudge). So i am on this eliptical, and there’s a guy on both side of me. I look at the heart rates and rpms these guys are showing. woo hoo. I am at 75 rpms and having a hard time keeping the heart rate at 145. these guys are at 50 rpms and sporting heart rates at 150. sweet.
the guy on my right finishes 2 secs before me and heads over to the wipes. I follow him. he walks back and starts cleaning my machine. so I tap him on the shoulder and point to his machine. he’s like "doh". I said, "you must be tired". in the mean time, here I am, I was working 50% faster and I am barely breaking a sweat.

today was test day to see how many perfect pushups I can do after the 20 day regimen. the old number was 24, which was a 15% increase over the previous regimen. so today is test day.
…
I did
25
that’s bullshit. it’s the wife’s fault, she ruined my workout before it started. I demand a recount. tomorrow I will test again. I expect to be able to do 27. so tomorrow will be the real test.

finally made it to the gym. had to spend some time outside breaking ice off the gutters and finding the extension ends to see if the water was coming out. (2 yes, one no)
then finally went to the gym.
got in a little of everything 2x though the hiit training, plus some workouts before and after. increased the weight on the bent over db rows to 40/42, increased the db presses to 30/32, and almost got to 8 reps on the assisted chim ups at minus 20 on the third set.
spent some time showing a little kid how to do pushups on that half ball thingy. what do they call that? did some calf work and could walk right for 1o min.
all in all, i hit everything and my inner thighs are telling me not to do that again. why not? I reply. it’s for a good cause. side lunges are good for a body. more side lunges. bartender, one round of side lunges for eveyone, it’s on me.
oh, and the one bad thing. on the way out of the workout area, they have 2 incline benches. most people use these for abs work. I wanted to do a set of declined leg lifts. there was an advertiment sign, a few feet away today. but my feet didn’t reach that far beyond the bench. there was very little room between my outstretched legs and the sign when in the down position. so I go at it. 1,2,3,…. around number 21, I am hurting (I always do these at the end of the workout when I am beat, so it doesn’t take 3 set of 25 to hurt the abs), so around number 21, some idiot walks between me and the sign. he doesn’t even time it so that when my legs go up he can walk though. noooooo, he just interrupts my rhythm, and forces me to stop midway so his fat lard ass that needs the excercise of going around can get through. geesh, is there no end to the stupidity I must deal with?

woke up this morning, took the dog to the door, put her leash on, step out, nearly broke my neck slipping on the ice. then I looked around (i know i shoiuld have done that first) and noticed the extra inch of snow and go to with the ice storm we had. SNAIN, that stuff that ruins the weekend for those of us in the northern climes.
does it ever show up on a monday? - no. tuesday, wednesday, thursday or friday? - no. only on weekends. today is sunday, now we had to choose between going to heavan today (immediately after the car crash), or going to hell later if we don’t go to church. we chose hell later. I think it would be a good idea for us catholics in northern climes to have a fan out list. Preist calls one person and absolves them of the sin of not going to mass, and they pass it along until the whole congregation is absolved and at home sleeping in.
plus, i have to wait for this crap to melt so I can go to the gym later. what if it doesn’t melt? I could be stuck here until may! (i am clearly going snow crazy in southeastern Michigan) I am trapped. we are trapped. we are all going to die in SNAIN!
the rescuers will find our frozen bodies in the spring. last one alive gets to eat the rest (unfortunately I am the healthiest starting out, so I win. hmmm…. wife roast, dog burgers, and the kids for appetizers….). all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy! all work and no play makes mike a dull boy!
