Not getting much in the way of workouts this week. Too busy to do the things I want to. But I am squeezing in some pushups and bentover rows and situps.
Tonight is legs. I am going to add 1 leg squats to the routine. With the off leg held up in front. This will work the hip flexors and build some support strength. Use the smith machine for this. Can’t do the one leg squat without weight, let alone with a bar. I like squats as a whole. They work almost the whole body for strength like swimming works the whole for endurance.
Leg press too. Going for 3×10 at 3 plates per side plus a 10 on top = 325. real good burn. I would have to say my legs are my strongest body part.
Noticed I am growing hair on my chest. More than I had before. No progress on top of my head though. Why would this happen, shouldn’t it be falling out at my age?
Anyway, more tomorrow.

I stuck to my diet almost perfectly this weekend, but the foods I ate were too complicated to track on fitday, so I didn’t. The only real cheat was the Blue Moon icecream. I’m a sucker for icecream, plus I know where to get it on the cheap. I also ate some lunch meat that doesn’t quite fit, but I avoided other foods to compensate.
I am at 170. There was no Sunday workout, which is ok. My shoulder is still hurting, it needs rest. I won’t have a Sunday workout this week either as we will be back at Silver Lake on Sunday.
I did do pushups and bent over rows though. (yes the shoulder hurt) I made it to 75 and some were close hand push ups and did rows to fail 2x. Also went on a hike, and did some yard work.
MRI on Friday morning. Stay tuned!

If you are a beginner, check out shankyw’s blog. She is going through the whole physiology of weight loss for you.
I am holding a good diet right now, but I was reminded that I need to change it up. Going to Sam’s club today. Maybe I’ll get some other fishes, and look for some alternate items for my diet.
Any suggestions?
I like bulk food shopping, because if you find something, you can get a boat load for a good price. But now I will rant.
Does anyone know what causes Wal-mart, Home Depot, and Lowes, and etc.? There was a problem in the 50’s with racism. There were 2 prices on the store goods, one for whites, and one for blacks. Guess who’s was higher? Anyway the Fed Gov’t passed a law (got it right for once) saying you can’t do that.
But there was an exception to the law. Repeat and volume customers could be treated to discounts. For instance, I have a Speedway Rewards Card. When I swipe it at the pump, and then swipe my credit card, I get 5 cents off per gallon. That’s a repeat customer.
Home Depot buys 50,000 hammers at a time. The local hardware store buys 5. That’s a difference in volume, so Home Depot gets a discount that the local Hardware store cannot compete with. That’s why the local stores are going out of bus, and the big box are growing.
That is also why we can’t get our kind of food at the stores near us anymore, because the big boxes only supplly us with generic stuff. The price is so good, that we buy our milk, eggs and cereal there, and since we are there, buy the rest of the stuff. Now we don’t have time to shop around town for the healthy food we need but the boxes won’t supply. So we go with what we have. Except for us die hards.

I swear I don’t watch much TV, just while online at night before bed.
Anyway, Zataran’s has decided to reduce the salt in their products. Now I have to re-examine the macros.
Probably still not too good, but worth it to check it out.

I am going to a family reunion picnic. Lot’s of food. Though I will only be eating the healthy stuff. It is sure to drive my Italian mother nuts, she may even have her 37th hearth attack (all caused by me) over it. What can I say, I was born to be trouble.
Got my rent money from the tenants, so I have cash in pocket. Think I’ll put it in the shoe box and save it for a rainy day. lol Financial Advisor thinking there.
Enjoy the sun
get some running done
work in the yards
Don’t play no cards
get off yer but
don’t get in a rut
if you want to build mass
you need to get off yer …

Great workout last night. It was short, but the right wrist was strong. Use the tri-dip machine at 100lbs as well. Really pumped the tris. Arms are starting to come along, due to pushing near max on all excercises. I go to fail, thanks Fields.
My howling Father’s Day present saw a doe and her twins playing in the yard this morning. She went nuts. She doesn’t like to bark, so she whined, and howled, and huffed and puffed, stood the window sill and glass door (and put nose prints all over the glass). But I didn’t let her out. She would have chase those deer foreever.

It started with my howling father’s day present, she wanted to go out. Luckily my wife was still home. So she took her out, and then brought her upstairs and locked her in the bedroom with me before leaving. Dottie (that’s the dog) had her favorite bone. She laid on the bed from 5:45 to 7:15 crunching away. She was constantly repositioning. Sometimes she had the bone on top of me like a table. Rotten dingo!
So I woke up, and started my cooking routine. The kids slept in, so I had the time to go about it easily. Unfortunately I got done quickly, and left many things at home. Now I will need to improvise for the day. If those rotten runts had just woken up and interrupted me like they normally do, I would’ve gotten everything packed like normal.
Well, I fell to 168 this morning. I will stick with the 2800 cals until the end of the week (saturday). Then I will decide if I should go back to 3200.
Tonight is arms, abs, deadlift, and inclined bench.

I had to be at a hearing. I get in the car and the traffic report says there is a car fire on I-75 at 12 mile southbound. Great, right before the I-696 exit. So I switch to Adams and take it to Woodward so I can get to the Southfield. But noooooo. A cement truck. After a few miles he get’s out of the way and an old lady in a CTS get’s in the way.
Allow me to side track. People who are afraid to drive fast should not be aloud to drive high performance cars.
Anyway, I get there and they had already ended the session. Fortunately everyone had not gotten vary far. So they reconvened for me.
Skipped the last meal last night. Just a protein bar and some miniwheats. So it was only 2400 cals. I was just too tired after the gym.
Try this. Leg presses with high weights, then try to walk down some steps. It’s all jelly legs.
Squats 1×5 at 235, 1×4 at 225, 1×3 at 225
BB Calf raises 3×15 at 135
Smith Lunges 1×10 at 115 left and right, 1×10 at 115 left, 1×6 at 115 right (the right is the weak side)
Leg press 2×10 at 315
Swiss ball pass 2×15
Med ball twists 3×15 with 12lb
double crunches 3×15 with leg weights and 12lb DB
Eliptical 5 min HR 140

My golf swing is terrible, but that is not what this is about. I mean getting in the car and going somewhere you don’t want to go and it takes 1.5 hours, but the oher drivers make it take 2 hours. I hate it.
Any way, I am losing weight at 2800 cals, so I will stay here for a while to see what happens. Abs are looking good. I am thinking of using the rowing machine for cardio. At least I can get some time in, and get the heart rate up and burn some fat. (lose the love handles)
No I am hungry all the time. Remember when I was sick of eating so much?
I was wondering, once I get the perfect body, is it easy to maintain it? Or does the work just begin?

It seems more muscular in nature. I can feel it more when I flex my leg muscles.
Of course what do I know? I specialize in lumberjacking not medicine. If you ask me how to cure the common cold, I grab my chain saw and say, "come here."
Do shin splints pains show up when you go for a walk? It’s in the front of my legs. I do wear wingtoes all day. Not the best walking shoes.
What else can you do to determine if it is shin splints or just muscle fatigue. Is there an outward trait? Maybe lumps on the shin, or bruising.
