New change, more carbs

Ok, today I will try to correct the problem of too few carbs.  Brought some frosted mini wheats with me as a snack.  Hopefully that will add carbs and calories to the protein and fat, without causing the protein to go low again.

 This takes focus.

Now my carbs are too low.  The fat still sent over.  The protein finally got up there, but also went over, and I still didn’t get the calories.

So the trick now is to get the proteins back down, the fats down, the calories up and the carbs up.

I think the frosted mini wheats instead of some of the turkey or more turkey and mini wheats, but skip a pork chop might do it.  We’ll see tomorrow.

 Plus I still have to learn variety.  This could be a long process.  Godd thing for fitday.com, they keep referenceable track for me online so I can look it up a few months from now.

I think I have this diet thing worked out.

I switched to no egg yolks.  Hard boiled whites only or egg beaters.  I was always afraid of egg beaters, because I thought they would taste bad, but they were surprisingly pretty good. 

Anyway, that drastically reduces the fat in my diet, and should free me up to accomplish my goal of 224 g of protein, with only 2240 calories.

Check my profile, my personal website is listed at fitday.  I am listing everything I eat so I can track it.

Last night was a committee meeting with the Italian Chamber of Commerce, I got off the diet a little.  Went over on calories, carbs, and fat, but under on protein.  I didn’t miss by much, and had I made the change before, I probably would have been OK overall.

Damn, what a work out.

Last night I was at the gym and thought I would try one of those (what we all think of as) women workouts.

So the instructor said it is called strictly strength.  She said to get equipment from the racks including a DB I can do 15 bicep curls with.  So I grabbed 15 lbs.  The largest they had, and an 8 lbs. (she said to get a smaller one too)

We started, some aerobic dance step thingy, the 3 guys couldn’t handle the timing.  Then we go into a leg thrust position.  Let me describe.  Right toe up on the step, left leg thrust forward.  Holding the heavy DB, do squats, in time to the dance music (aerobically).  After 30 seconds, my legs started shaking.  I thought whats wrong with me.  Then we kick it up and do more.  Then we one handed row, then we switch legs.

In no time I was using the 8 lbs DB.  These classes are stacked in favor women.  There is more lower body workout, and more flexibility stretches in the lower body workout.  The guys nearly dies during the first 40 mins.

The we moved to the upper body.  The guys came to life, and the women were dropping like flies.  One even packed up and left.

Finally, we got on the floor and worked the abs.  I thought I was going to die.  Imagine sitting on the end of the bench, hands braced behind you, body at 45 degrees back, doing leg lift, with a DB pinched between your feet, in time to music.

What a work out.  I think I’ll go back.

My son’s middle school was just closed due to a bomb threat.  I understand they caught the 6th grader who called it in.  People need to do more watching of their kids, and talk to them more about appropriate behaviour.  Well these parents will get what is coming to them, I know the Sherrif and Prosecuter, the parents will pay heavy money for this one.  Reimbursement expenses inaddition to fines from a judge.

Max dead lift

Last night I tested my max 1 rep dead lift.  I had been working 3X10 at 65, and thought it was a stimulating workout.  So when testing my max, I thought it would be 125.  125 was easy, so was 150, 185, and then 205 was heavy, I went to 225, and decided it was my max.  I had no idea I could do that.  I will try again next month, but this time, I won’t be tired from all the lower weights, and I might make it to 250.  In any event, 1.4 BW dead lift for a beginner, I’m happy.

Vacation Recovery

Ok, dropped half the weight gain from vacation.  Now, get back to routine.  I had started an abs program a few weeks before leaving, and thought I could continue straight through the trip.  I didn’t work out, and now I am starting over from the beginning.  3 Days 1st week, 4 Days 2nd week, 3 Days 3rd week, and 6 Days fourth week. 

The next month after that will be arms month, then chest and upper back month.  Legs are good.

All of this is in addition to keeping every thing else maintained throughout the time, and still trying to reduce BF to 8% (building mass, then dieting, building mass, etc.)

Got my weight back

the junk food from vacation was short lived, it just needed to work itself out of my system.  I tend to do that a lot.  short bursts of junk food, followed by burning it off quickly.  Is that normal, or do I have a high metabolism?

Vacation

We vacationed at Boyne Mountain for Easter.  the snow had melted before we arived, so they closed the ski business.  However, on the ride up it snowed a lot.  By the time we woke up on saturday morning, there was 9 inches, and it was still coming.  so we grabbed the sleds and hiked up the hill.

No amount of cardio can prepare you for hiking up a steep hill in 12 inches of snow.  The way down was like Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation.

 There is no healthy food to eat when site seeing in northern Michigan, so I bit the bullet and ate what was available, I gained 5 lbs in 5 days.  Bad food and just a little too much ice cream.  Check out my bodyspace.  I’ll have it gone real quick, but that tells you how quickly you can move your weight.
